The University of Stavanger is inviting students who want to carry out systematic reviews as part of their thesis work and receive training and support in the work with systematic reviews to apply for its PhD Fellowships in Education for the academic year 2022-2023.

This PhD Fellowship is directed toward the research project Life skills in primary education, which focuses on understanding life skills in the curriculum and current research. It will empirically examine how this is practiced in primary schools. Interested applicants must submit a description and research project plan within life skills in primary education, including the use of systematic reviews to be considered.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All international and Norwegian students are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD program in Educational Science and Humanities offered at the Faculty of Arts and Education at the University of Stavanger can be applied.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • To be eligible for admission to the doctoral programmes at the University of Stavanger, both the grade for your master‡s thesis and the weighted average grade of your master‡s degree must individually be equivalent to or better than a B grade.
  • Applicants with an education from an institution with a different grade scale than A-F and with other types of credits than sp/ECTS must attach a confirmed conversion scale that shows how the grades can be compared with the Norwegian A-F scale and a Diploma Supplement or similar that explains the scope of the subject that are included in the education.
  • Solid knowledge and skills in Norwegian or a Scandinavian language ??as a basis for empirical studies in Norway and for examining Norwegian language texts such as curricula, research, etc., motivation, and potential for research within the field.
  • Motivation and potential research within the field.
  • Professional and personal skills for completing the doctoral degree within the timeframe.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, be innovative and creative.
  • Ability to work structure and handle a heavy workload.
