Global Leaders Fellowship for Nigerian Students
George Washington University is inviting application for Global Leaders Fellowship for Graduate Students for 2016-17. Three fellowships are available for pursuing graduate (master’s and doctoral) degree level. Students holding an F-1 visa (J-1 visa is eligible for Fulbright applicants only) and who are from the following countries or regions (chosen based on protocol arrangements and areas of the world underrepresented at GW) are eligible to apply: China (PRC), Cambodia, Eastern Europe, Laos, Latin America, The Caribbean, Mongolia, Sub-Saharan Africa, U.S.S.R. Successor States and Vietnam. The application deadline is 3 February 2016.

Wellcome Trust Training Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine
Wellcome Trust is offering Training Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Research should be aimed at understanding and improving public health and tropical medicine of local, national and global relevance. This fellowship is normally for three years (non-renewable), but may be for up to four years for those who wish to undertake a relevant Master’s training or diploma course. Applications are considered twice a year. Preliminary application deadline is12 November 2015 and Full application deadline: 3 February 2016.

United Nations International Law Fellowship Programme 
United Nations offers international law fellowship programme. To qualify for the Fellowship Programme, candidates should be between 24 and 45 years of age at the beginning of the Fellowship Programme. They must have a legal background with professional experience in the field of international law. The Fellowship Programme will be held at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the Netherlands, from 27 June to 5 August 2016. The deadline for application is 1st December 2015.

Chief S.L Edu Research Grants for Nigerians Citizen
The Nigerian Conservation Foundation with support from Chevron Nigeria Limited is offering research grants for Nigerian Citizens. These grants are awarded to undertake research work in fields related to nature conservation and sustainable livelihood. The grant shall be for three years leading to a PhD degree. Candidates will be selected based on (among others) the quality of their research proposal. The deadline for application is 27th November, 2015.

Chevening Scholarships for Nigerian Students
Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations offer Chevening scholarships for master students. The programme provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree in any subject and at any UK University. Chevening scholarships cover tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual), an economy class return airfare to the UK and additional grants to cover essential expenditure. Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only. The application deadline is 3 November 2015.

Quebec MELS Merit Scholarship Program for Nigerian Students
Applications are invited for Quebec Merit Scholarship Program available for foreign nationals to undertake doctoral research, postdoctoral and short term research program in Québec. Candidates cannot apply directly to the agency they must be nominated by a University. Doctoral Research Scholarship is valued at $25,000 per year, postdoctoral fellowship is valued at $35,000 per year and short-term research or professional development is valued at $3,000 a month. Only candidates nominated by a University may submit an application to the provincial competition. The deadline for sending scholarship applications is November 1st, 2015.

uOttawa-GLUK Postdoctoral Fellowship in Global Health Research
The uOttawa-GLUK-UWISON Postdoctoral Fellowship in Global Health Research is offering a one-year contract, to be based at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK), Kenya. Citizens of Sub-Saharan Africa can apply for this fellowship. This award will support one postdoctoral fellow for 12 months of full-time mentored training onsite in Kisumu, Kenya at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu, including one-month participation in the GLUK international research internship. The application deadline is October 26th, 2015.

Foundation Edu Scholarship for African Students at University of Ghana
University of Ghana invites applications for Nigeria scholarship to 100 Level students from areas of need. The Scholarship covers tuition, books, as well as room and board and will be awarded for four years as long as excellent academic standards of at least a B average of 3.00 CGPA continue to be met and need is demonstrated. The application deadline is October 22, 2015.

Eisenhower Fellowships for African Applicants
Eisenhower Fellowships are available for individuals who have a demonstrated track record of significant professional and community achievements and who seek to tackle big challenges in the future. This is a seven week fellowship program will take place from October 2-November 18, 2016 in USA. The application deadline is October 15, 2015.

WAAW Foundation Scholarship for Undergraduate African Women
WAAW Foundation is awarding scholarship for Nigerian students. These scholarships are available to study as full time students in a STEM related course at a University, College or institute of higher learning in Africa. Scholarship recipients receive an award of $500 for the 2016 academic year, or the equivalent in their country’s local currency. The application deadline is 30 September, 2015.

Czech Republic Government Scholarships for Nigerians 
Czech Government Scholarships for Nigerian students are available to pursue Bachelor/ Master/ Doctoral degree program at public universities in the Czech Republic. These Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study. The application deadline is 30 September.

Sri Lankan Government Presidential Scholarships for Nigerian Students
Applications are invited for Sri Lankan Government Scholarships available for foreign students to pursue undergraduate degree. Scholarships are open for courses of studies other than Medical & Dental Sciences. Candidates can request for more than one course for securing chances to win a scholarship, identifying their preferences as places are limited in some fields. Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship for International Journalists
Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship is available for senior and mid-career journalists (with at least five years experience) from North America, Central and South America, Europe, the Asia Pacific region, Africa and the Mideast. Fellows attend an intensive weeklong program of seminars and discussions held at Columbia Sciences. Candidates can request for more than one course for securing chances to win a scholarship, identifying their preferences as places are limited in some fields. SPDC Joint Venture University Scholarship Award Scheme
The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited is offering scholarship scheme for first year students in all Nigerian universities. The merit-based scholarship is in two categories – the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award, East or West (OE or OW). Scholarship includes an annual grant for the full duration of course. Applications should be submitted before 18th September 2015

British Ecological Society Grants in Africa, 2015
Applications are invited for British Ecological Society grants from ecologists in Africa to carry out innovative ecological research. The maximum value of a grant is £8,000 for research. An additional sum up to £2,000 may be requested to fund travel to help grantees develop connections with other ecologists outside their usual peer group. The application deadline is 11 September, 2015.

Honjo International Scholarships for Nigerian Students
Applications are invited for Honjo international scholarships available for foreign students to attend a graduate school at a Japanese university April 1, 2016. Up to 15 to 20 scholarships will be awarded. The period of the Honjo international scholarship is set in accordance with the shortest period of time required to complete the intended degree. The student, once awarded the scholarship will be able to choose the option as follows: ¥200,000 per month for 1 or 2 years, ¥180,000 per month for 3 years and ¥150,000 per month for 4 or 5 years. Applications should be submitted till October 31, 2015.

Canadian Government Doctoral Research Scholarships for Nigerian Students
Each year the government of Canada offers doctoral research scholarships in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering fields for international students. The maximum annual value of the scholarship is $20 000. The scholarship holder may also receive up to nine payments totaling $60 000 during the nine sessions or 36 months. The deadline for submitting complete files directly to the FRQNT is November 1st, 2015.

Africa’s Land and Food Masters Fellowship Programme
The Royal Agricultural University invites applications for masters fellowship programme. Fellowships are open to Africans from Sub-Saharan Africa who have experience in agriculture, agri-business, food or natural resource management. Fellowships cover tuition fees, board and accommodation, airfare, incidental costs. The deadline for completing an expression of interest is 31st August 2015 and for full application is 31st October 2015.

Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Foreign Scholars and Artists
Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission offers excellence scholarships for foreign scholars and artists in Switzerland. The scholarships are available for pursuing PhD, postdoctoral and research programs at one of the public funded universities or recognized institution. The applicant must not be more than 35 years old at the moment of the application. The Scholarship is only valid for a full time Postdoctoral Research or Research in Switzerland. It is not valid for mixed Postdoctoral Research or mixed Research (part time in Switzerland and part time in a third country).

Norwegian Government Quota Scheme for Eastern European, Developing & Central Asian Countries
Norwegian Government offers Quota Scheme for Developing Countries students to study at selected Norwegian Universities. The scheme normally includes courses taught in English at Master’s and PhD level, in addition to certain professional degrees. The Quota Scheme will only enrol students from institutions (organisations, universities, authorities) which have collaboration agreements with Norwegian universities or colleges. Norwegian institutions usually do not admit free movers (individual applicants) to this scheme. Only in very special cases will free movers be considered. The deadline for applications for the Quota scheme is usually 1st December every year.

African Graduate Fellowship at American University in Cairo
American University in Cairo is offering graduate fellowship for Non-Egyptian African nationals. Fellowship is available for pursuing graduate (master) degree level at The American University in Cairo, Egypt. Applicants must have bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum overall rating of very good, an overall grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. Fellowships are awarded for two academic years and the intervening summer session. Application should be submitted till December 15.

UCT Masters Scholarships in Public Health (Community Eye Health)
University of Cape Town awards Master of Public Health scholarships for candidates from low- and middle-income African Commonwealth countries. Scholarships are awarded to undertake Master of Public Health (Community Eye Health) program. Scholarships will cover course fees, travel costs, and accommodation costs. The closing date for non-South African applicants is 31 July. The closing date for South African applicants is 30 September.

Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program
Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program is offered to students by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Borlaug fellows are generally scientists, researchers or policymakers who are in the early or middle stages of their careers. Each fellow works one-on-one with a mentor at a U.S. university, research center or government agency, usually for 6-12 weeks. The deadline for application is September 30th, 2015.

ICO-Retina Research Foundation Helmerich Fellowships
The International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) is offering two fellowships for developing countries. These one year fellowships are awarded for training in any ophthalmology subspecialty at a host training center. The fellowships worth of US$25,000 are offered to cover round trip travel, living expenses and professional expenses. The fellowship may be commencing anytime within 15 months after award notification. The deadline for applications is September 30 of each year.

Mexican Government Scholarship Program
Applications are invited for Mexican Government scholarship program available for foreign students. Scholarships for academic studies are offered for those who preferred to take complete programs for Specialization, Master’s or PhD Degrees and Postgraduate Researches. Likewise, the offer includes academic mobility for Bachelor’s and Postgraduate Degree. On the other hand, the scholarships for special programs are offered to take short-term fellowships addressed to Visiting Professors, Researchers in Mexico’s issues, Media Contributors, Art Production Fellowships, etc. Applications for the scholarship will be accepted from April 15 to August 31, 2015.

Sussex Nigeria Scholarships for Nigerian Students in UK, 2015
Applications are offered by University of Sussex to pursue to full-time taught Masters degree. Scholarships for Nigerian students are open for the academic year 2015. Applicants must apply for admission to an eligible Masters course via the University’s PG Apply online application system between 1 October 2014 and 1 August 2015. Scholarship has a value of £3,000. The deadline for application is 1 August 2015.

Daniel Pearl Fellowship for Journalists in USA
Applications are invited for Daniel Pearl Fellowship from professional journalists of Muslim-majority countries. This six month fellowship is awarded for journalists to work full time at U.S. host news organizations while developing their journalism skills. The fellowship program begins in March with a two-week orientation seminar in Washington, DC designed to prepare the fellows. Fellows return to their home countries in late August to begin sharing their knowledge and skills with colleagues, editors and publishers in their home newsrooms. The application deadline is August 1, 2015.

ZMO and BGSMCS Visiting Research Fellowship in Germany
ZMO and BGSMCS are inviting applications as Visiting Researchers for the calendar year of 2016. Fellowship is open for senior researchers and recent postdocs in the humanities and the social sciences. Applications by candidates from Africa, Asia and the Middle East are particularly encouraged.  Successful applicants will receive monthly stipend (2500 EUR, covering all expenses including travel and accommodation), and a period of stay that should normally last up to three months. The application deadline is 31 August 2015.

DAAD Master Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance
DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is funding master scholarships in Public Policy and Good Governance at German institution in Germany. A monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 € will be awarded. Scholarships also provide health insurance, travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy and in applicable cases accommodation subsidies and/or family allowances. The next application deadline is 31st July 2015.

Postgraduate Scholarships for Nigerian Students at University of Portsmouth
University of Portsmouth is inviting applications for postgraduate scholarships for Ghanaian and Nigerian students. The scholarships will be in the form of a 20% fee reduction from any tuition fee but please note, it cannot be taken in conjunction with any other fee reduction or bursary offered by the University. The scholarship is a one-off award towards a one year Masters fees and is non-renewable and only valid for study on the courses. The application deadline is 31 July 2015.

HPI PhD Studentships in Computer Science at University of Cape Town
The Hasso-Plattner-Institute invites applications for PhD studentships in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cape Town. These scholarships are awarded to students from the African continent. Applicants must hold a Masters Degree in Computer Science, supported by a good dissertation and be proficient in English as attested by a recent score. The application deadline is July 15, 2015.

Phandulwazi nge China Scholarship Programme for Visiting Scholars from Africa
Phandulwazi nge China (isiXhosa for Understanding China) scholarships offer opportunities for African researchers to spend research time at the Centre for Chinese Studies (CCS). The scholarship involves a fully funded 3-month visit at the CCS at Stellenbosch University, in the second half of 2015, including a fully funded short research trip to China during the stay at the CCS. The application deadline is 30 June, 2015.

Glenmore Medical Postgraduate Scholarship at University of Edinburgh
Applications are invited for The Glenmore Medical Postgraduate Scholarship. One scholarship is available for postgraduate full-time Master’s (one year) study for eligible programmes offered by the University. The scholarship will have a value of £20,600 and will be tenable for one academic year. The scholarship will cover tuition fees of up to £20,600 with any surplus paid as a stipend. ITEC/SCAAP Scholarships for Citizens of ITEC Countries
Fully funded ITEC/SCAAP sponsored International Training Programmes on International Marketing and Global Competitiveness and Rural Enterprise Management by NIESBUD Noida. There are maximum 35 scholarships in each training programme for the duration of six weeks. INSEAD staff and former colleagues is inviting application for Scholarship for Africans for studying MBA course at Insead-Campuses. Candidates admitted to the MBA programme from Africa qualify. Preference will be given to Ghanaians and to candidates who demonstrate financial need. Scholarship has a value of up to €10,000. Applications will close 16 June 2015.

INSEAD MBA ’91 June Endowed Scholarship for Students of Developing Countries
INSEAD Business School is funding MBA Scholarship for the students of developing countries. This scholarship is awarded once in a year for disadvantaged students from developing countries who are in financial need. After the completion of the program the students have to return their own country. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need. Applications must be submitted by 16 June 2015.

Fully Funded International PhD Studentships at Plymouth University Marine Institute
Applications are invited for two fully funded international PhD studentships within Plymouth University’s Marine Institute funded by UK Seabed Resources Ltd. The eligible applicants must be from a developing nation, will be based in Plymouth UK and be able to participate in extended research cruises. Newcastle University Nigeria Scholarships
Newcastle University is inviting applications for three Nigeria scholarships  for 2015-16 academic year. These are available for high achieving Nigerian students applying for entry onto postgraduate Master’s degree programmes, commencing in September 2015.  Each scholarship will have a value of £5,000, payable towards the first year of tuition fees. MBA Scholarships for Nigerian Students
Cranfield School of Management offers MBA scholarship for 2015 academic year. This scholarship is available for pursuing master’s degree level in the field of business administration at Cranfield School of Management. The students of Nigeria can apply for this scholarship. Two scholarships are offered of up to £15,000 value towards the tuition fees. The application deadlines are for Stage 2 is 30 January 2015, for Stage 3 is 24 April 2015 and for Stage 4 is 26 June 2015.

Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation in Sub-Saharan Africa
Applications are invited for Africa Prize from ambitious and talented sub-Saharan African engineers from all disciplines to stimulate, celebrate and reward innovation and entrepreneurship in sub-Saharan Africa. Shortlisted applicants will receive a six-month package of tailored support to help them achieve commercial success from their innovation. Gradlink Africa Scholarship for Nigerian Students
The Gradlink with UWE Bristol University is offering seven Africa scholarships for Ghanaian, Kenyan and Nigerian students. Recipients of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working with the Gradlink development team. This scholarship is for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree. Scholarships will be offered for the period of one academic year. Applicants can apply till 14 June 2015.

Business School Dean’s Scholarships for Masters Students in UK, 2015
Bournemouth University is offering scholarships for masters students. Scholarships are open for students of Colombia, Taiwan, Turkey, Nigeria, China, India and South Korea who have applied to study a full-time Taught Masters at the Business School on BU campus. Scholarships cover tuition fee waiver (50% or 25%). The deadline for September 2015 entry applications is 31 May 2015.

Postgraduate Taught Country Scholarships
University of Reading is offering Postgraduate Taught Country Scholarships for international students. To be eligible for the Postgraduate Taught Country Scholarships applicants must have an offer for a full-time Master’s programme and assessed as an ‘International/Overseas’ student for funding purposes. Steve Huckvale Scholarships for Nigerian Students
University of Bath is awarding scholarships for African students who are intending to study Engineering or Management. All the scholarships are for international fee-paying applicants for full-time taught masters degrees (MA/MSc/MBA) at the University of Bath in 2015. Each Scholarship is of worth £5,000. BU Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship
Bournemouth University is offering Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship for 2015 academic year. This scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate (Masters) degree level. David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Program in Nigeria
David Oyedepo Foundation is offering full tuition scholarship for African students to study at the Covenant University and Landmark University. Eligible applicant must be a national and resident of an Africa and not more than 23years old at time of application. The scholarship is for 4 or 5 years, this is subject to university stipulated time for course completion. The maximum duration of scholarship award is 5 years for undergraduate programs. NWAG Scholarship for Undergraduate Female Students in Nigeria

Edinburgh Global Health Academy Masters Scholarship
University of Edinburgh is offering one full-time masters scholarship on the basis of academic merit. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is accepted for admission onto an eligible Global Health Academy programme at the University of Edinburgh. Scholarship will cover the UK/EU “home” rate of tuition fee of up to £8,100.The application deadline is 29 May 2015.

Dorothy Nicol Scholarship for Nigerian Students
University of Stirling is offering scholarship for students from Sub-Saharan Africa for entry in September 2015. Applicants must hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on any of the full-time Masters programmes offered by Stirling Management School. The application deadline is 29th May, 2015.

Mo Ibrahim Foundation MSc Scholarship
The International Development Department is offering MSc scholarship in the field of Governance and State-building, followed by a six-month internship at IDD and six months with the Mo Ibrahim Foundation in London. Applicants must have the equivalent of a first class UK bachelors degree and be African nationals domiciled (or permanent residents) in an African country. The application deadline is 18 May 2015.

POLIS International Taught Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship in UK, 2015
University of Leeds is inviting applications for POLIS International Taught Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship programme for the 2015-2016 academic year.Scholarship is open for applicants from China, India, Japan, Nigeria and South Korea.There will be up to five scholarships of £3000 open to applicants from China, India, Japan, Nigeria and South Korea at University of Leeds, UK.The application deadline is 8 May 2015.

Development Scholarships for Nigerian Students
The Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University through the support of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport offers seven development scholarships for developing countries. Applications for these scholarships are open to all students from developing countries and/or countries going through a process of political and economic transition, who are applying for study in one of Bachelor’s studies or Master’s studies programmes at Charles University Faculty of Social Sciences from academic year 2015/2016. The deadline for scholarship applications is 30th April 2015.

Research Awards for SABMiller Royal Society Exchange Programme
The Royal Society invites applications for exchange programme from sub-Saharan African and UK based scientists. Collaborations should be based on a single project between “the applicant” (UK based scientist) and “co-applicant” (African based scientist). The programme will focus on, but not be restricted to Ghana and Tanzania. The award lasts for 3 years. The total value of the award over 3 years is £21,000. The application deadline is 30 April 2015.

UNU-ISP PhD Scholarships in Sustainability Science, Japan
Applications are invited for full PhD scholarships in the area of sustainability science at United Nations University. A limited number of PhD scholarships (covering tuition fees and living costs) for a maximum of 36 months are available for outstanding applicants. Application deadline is April 30, 2015.

Loughborough University Graduate Scholarships
Loughborough University is offering full-fee Africa scholarships for full-time taught postgraduate degree program. The scholarships will cover 100% of the course fees for applicants chosen postgraduate taught course for one year. The application deadline is 30th April 2015.

Developing Solutions Masters Scholarships
University of Nottingham is inviting applications for developing solutions masters scholarships available for the students of Africa, India or one of the listed countries of the Commonwealth. Applicants must already hold an offer to start a full-time masters degree programme, including MRes at Nottingham for September 2015. Up to 105 scholarships are awarded. Up to 30 scholarships will cover 100% tuition fee and up to 75 scholarships will cover 50% towards tuition fees. The application deadline is 24 April 2015.

Eni Scholarship for Nigerian Students
St Antony’s College Oxford in partnership with the international integrated energy company Eni is offering three students from Nigeria and other African universities the opportunity of fully funded scholarships. Scholarships will be including fees and living expenses, to undertake postgraduate study at the Master’s level at the University of Oxford. The application deadline is 10 April 2015.

Abraaj RCA Innovation Scholarship for Nigerian Students
Applications are invited for Abraaj RCA Scholarship for pursuing masters degree programme. Every year, for a period of five years, a cohort of five outstanding scholars will be selected for the scholarship. Scholarship will cover full international tuition fees to study at a Master’s level for two years at the Royal College of Art in London. A significant contribution towards living costs will also be provided. The application deadline is 10 April, 2015.

Netherlands Fellowship Programmes for Nigerian students
Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation is offering Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) for developing country applicants. The fellowship is available for master’s, PhD and short courses. Students must be a national of and working and living in one of the countries in the NFP country list valid at the time of application. If for whatever reason a candidate stays in another country other than his or her home country for more than 90 days before the start of the course and/ or programme, he or she is not considered to be living and working in his or her home country.

Global Challenges Fellowship Program (GCFP) in Germany
The Volkswagen Foundation is supporting Global Challenges Fellowship to conduct research for journal articles and/or policy papers and participate in a series of small working group discussions and seminars. Beginning in September 2015, Global Challenges Fellows will spend approximately 7-8 months doing analytical, policy, and empirical work at SPP/CEU IAS in Budapest and at GPPi in Berlin where they will engage with policy practitioners. Researchers from nine countries (Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, and Turkey) are eligible to apply. The application deadline is March 30, 2015.

Cultures of Resistance Scholarships for Developing Countries
Applications are invited for SOAS Scholarships to pursue full time masters program in 2015/16 academic year. The scholarships will benefit people from countries that have been affected by wars and extreme poverty. Each scholarship is valued at £15,000 in total. In addition, each scholar will benefit from a 20% reduction in their tuition fees, from free accommodation at International Student House (ISH) and food vouchers to be spent in the ISH restaurant. The application deadline is 20 March 2015.

King’s Nigerian Law Scholar Fund for Masters Students
King’s College London is inviting applications for law scholarship from Nigerian students undertaking the one year LLM Law programme at King’s for 2015 entry. The winner will be selected on the basis of a personal statement as well as demonstrable financial hardship. The scholarship will be worth £25,000 and will support the winner with the full cost of tuition fees and also provide a living costs allowance whilst studying. The application deadline is 31 March 2015.

High Achiever Foundation Prize for Nigerian Students
University of Nottingham is inviting applications for high achiever foundation prizes available for African students. Up to three prizes of £2,000 towards tuition fees will be awarded for the first year only. Applicants should already hold an offer to start a full-time foundation programme at Nottingham in September 2015. Students will only be eligible to receive this high achiever prize if they meet the conditions of their academic offer. The application deadline is 27 March 2015.

TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme for Sub-Saharan Africans in Germany, 2015
German Research Foundation is inviting applications for TWAS-DFG cooperation visits programme available for Sub-Saharan Africans.TWAS will cover visa, health insurance and travel expenses, while DFG will provide subsistence costs for the stay in Germany. The TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme provides postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa, with the opportunity to make a ‘Cooperation Visit’ to an institute in Germany of no more than 3 months.The application deadline is 31 March each year.

POGO-SCOR Visiting Fellowships for Nigerian students
POGO and the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) are jointly offering visiting research fellowships for a maximum of a three-month period. The fellowship program is open to scientists, technicians, graduate students (PhD) and post-doctoral fellows involved in oceanographic work at centres in developing countries  and countries with economies in transition. Wellcome Trust Masters Fellowships for Nigerian Students
Wellcome Trust is offering Masters Fellowships for Nigerian Students in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. A Fellowship normally provides up to 30 months’ support. A period of 12 months should normally be dedicated to undertaking a taught Master’s course at a recognized centre of excellence, combined with up to 18 months to undertake a research project. The application deadline is 2 March 2015.

Early Career Development Fellowship
The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and OCLC are offering Jay Jordan IFLA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellowship for Developing Countries Applicants. This fellowship is available for early career development and continuing education for library and information science professionals. Applicants must have a qualifying degree in library or information science. Normally a PhD is not considered a qualifying degree, because the Fellowship program is targeted for early career librarians. The application deadline is February 13, 2015.

CIAPS Postgraduate Commonwealth Scholarship
Applications are invited for CIAPS Postgraduate Commonwealth Scholarship for 2015 entry. There are a total of twenty (20) scholarships available, worth a total of Five Million Naira (N5 000 000). Every successful applicant can receive up to Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000) towards his or her tuition fees at CIAPS for the duration of the recipient’s one-year International Postgraduate Certificate in School Management study. International Students House Residential Scholarships
Applications are invited for residential scholarships in London for the September 2014 intake. Students should be from a developing or emerging country and intending to return on completion of their studies. Preference will be given to postgraduate students who are studying a course that will provide skills to assist in the development of their home country. Scholarships provide free accommodation at ISH for up to a year and in exceptional circumstances up to three years. The application deadline is 9th January 2015.

Global Change Leaders Scholarship for Nigerian students
The Coady International Institute St. Francis Xavier University is offering global change leaders scholarship program in Canada. This is a seven-week education program which provides successful candidates with a full scholarship that includes tuition, travel meals and accommodations. 2015 AFD-PSIA Scholarships in Development for African Students, France
Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA) and the French Development Agency are offering AFD-PSIA Scholarships for African students in the Development programs of PSIA.Scholarships are available for pursuing masters degree at Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA). International Climate Protection Fellowships for Nigerian Students in Germany, 2015
International Climate Protection Fellowships for Nigerian students for offered by Federal Environment Ministry’s (BMU) International Climate Initiative. These fellowships are awarded to pursue research in the field of climate protection and climate-related resource conservation. There are 20 International Climate Protection Fellowships granted to students annually. The application deadline is 15 March, 2015.

UNESCO/Japan Young Researchers’ Fellowships Programme, 2015
Applications are invited for up to 20 available UNESCO Fellowships to undertake postgraduate research in one of the four areas of development of particular interest to UNESCO. Research must be carried out under the auspices of an academic supervisor in a host institution.The Fellowships financed by Japan and administered by UNESCO will consist of the following: A maximum amount between US$6,000 to US$10,000 will be awarded to selected candidates.The application deadline is 16 January 2015.

2015 Commonwealth Medical Fellowships for Nigerian Students, UK
Commonwealth Medical Fellowships are offered by UK Department for International Development (DFID). Fellowships for Nigerian students are awarded to undertake a program designed to enhance clinical skills. Awards are tenable for between three months and six months; experience suggests that a minimum of 4 months is sensible. Applications are considered according to on the basis of academic merit of the candidate, quality of the application and likely impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country. The closing date for application is 3 December 2014.

Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Scholarships
The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies is a Recognized Independent Centre of the University of Oxford. It was established in 1985 to encourage the scholarly study of Islam and the Islamic world. The Centre provides a meeting point for the Western and Islamic worlds of learning. The application deadline is 9 or 23 January 2015, depending on applicants course.

Eye Researcher Travel Fellowships for Nigerian Students, 2015
Eye Researcher Travel Fellowships are granted to Nigerian Students. Fellowships are available to pursue a career in teaching and research in any area of eye and vision research, whether basic or clinical research, epidemiology, public health, infectious diseases, genetics or a particular sub specialty. Fellowship covers transportation, lodging and per diem, in addition to registration for the ARVO Annual Meeting and complimentary ARVO membership for one year. The application deadline is December 1, 2014.

ACLS Humanities Fellowship Program for Nigerian Students, 2014-2015
Applications are offered by American Council of Learned Societies for doctoral and postdoctoral level of study. Fellowship for Nigerian students for awarded in humanities. The total number of dissertation-completion and early career postdoctoral fellowships ranges from 35 to 50. Stipends are $10,000 for dissertation-completion fellows and $17,000 for postdoctoral Fellows, plus an additional $1,000 per. The deadline for application is 1 November 2014.

Presidential Special Nigeria Scholarship Scheme for Innovation and Development (PRESSID), 2015
The Federal Government of Nigeria has invited applications for Presidential Special Scholarship Scheme for Innovation and Development (PRESSID) for the third edition (2015/2016 academic session). Scholarships for Nigerian students are available to pursue postgraduate studies at the top 25 universities in the world. To be eligible, candidate must be graduates from the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 academic sessions, who would have completed their National Youth Service by October 2014 and have obtained First Class Honours degree from any recognized and approved University. Students should apply before 18th October 2014.

Africa Regional Bursary for Master Students 
Cambridge Judge Business School offers Bursary for African students to pursue MBA programme. A bursary worth up to £18,000 will be awarded to a successful African candidate. To be eligible for this bursary, applicants meet the usual requirements for the Cambridge MBA. Candidates should apply for admission to the Cambridge MBA in the normal way for applying this bursary.

Volkswagen Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships for African
Applications are invited for postdoctoral fellowships for research projects in Sub-Saharan Africa” aims at providing sustainable support for research and research capacity development in Sub-Saharan Africa. The application deadline is 5th September 2014.

Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) MSc Scholarship for African Scientists
Applications are invited for Africa London Nagasaki Scholarships available for African scientists to undertake a Master’s degree related to the control of infectious diseases in Africa. Scholarships will award to study either the Institute of Tropical Medicine or at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Up to four scientists will receive up to a maximum award of US $50,000 each to cover tuition fees, travel and living expenses. The application deadline is 12 September 2014.

Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) invites applications for college scholarships available for international students to study at a Japanese college of technology. A graduated grantee will be awarded a diploma and an associate degree. Scholarship awards will be tenable for four years from April, 2015 to March, 2019 including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects due to be provided upon arrival in Japan.

Sri Lankan Government Presidential Scholarships
Applications are invited for up to 100 Sri Lankan Government Scholarships available for foreign students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degree commencing in December 2014 in Sri Lanka. Scholarships are open for courses of studies other than Medical & Dental Sciences. Every student is required to undergo an HIV/AIDS test within a month after arrival. Candidates should apply for this scholarship with the recommendation of the government scholarship nominating agency (Ministry/Institution) of the respective country till 15th October, 2014.

Postdoctoral Fellowships in Social Sciences in Sub-Saharan and North Africa

Henley Ambassador Postgraduate Awards
University of Reading offers Henley ambassador postgraduate awards in the field of business. Students must be holding an offer for a full time postgraduate programme at Henley Business School for entry in 2014/15. University of Reading provides total of £180,000 and successful students will receive up to £5,000 off their degree tuition fees. The deadlines for applications are March 21st 2014 and July 4th 2014.

Leventis Fellowship for Nigerian Applicants
Leventis Foundation is funding fellowship for younger scholars to develop their research interests in the field of libraries and archives and to participate in the intellectual life of the Center. Nigerian academics are eligible for this research fellowship. Duration of fellowship is of three months. The scheme might be particularly appropriate for scholars working up a PhD thesis into publishable form. The deadline for applications is 31st May 2014.

Call for Applications: WASCAL GRP on Climate Change and Agriculture

INSA JRD-Tata Fellowship Programme
The Indian National Science Academy (INSA) offers fellowship programme for developing countries in India. It covers short-term, participatory research studies in all major disciplines of science and technology including engineering and medical sciences at premier research institutions in India. Applicants possessing Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Science or equivalent degree in Engineering/ Medicine and allied disciplines, candidates below 45 years of age may apply. The application deadline is 31st October every year.

TechWomen Professional Mentorship and Exchange Program
Applications are invited for five-week TechWomen professional mentorship program in USA. This program supports emerging women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) from Africa and the Middle East. The 2014 TechWomen program will occur over five weeks from early October through early November 2014. Applications for this program should be submitted online by February 10, 2014.

IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarships for Nigerian students
Islamic Development Bank and the University of Oxford fund the combined IDB-Oxford Clarendon Scholarships for Nigerian students in the field of MPLS, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences at University of Oxford, UK. The application deadline is 10 January 2014 for Medical Sciences, Philosophy, Politics & International Relations and Computer Science; 24 January 2014 for all other subjects.

South-South PhD Sandwich Scholarships for Nigerian Students
The Food Security Center (FSC) is offering up to four visiting Sandwich scholarships for PhD students to pursue research at a partner institute, research center or development organization located in a developing country. The monthly grant is 500 Euros. In addition, FSC pays for traveling to/from the partner institute. Health insurance and other costs must be paid for from the stipend. The deadline of application is January 19, 2014.

Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowships for Women
International Peace Research Association Foundation offers graduate fellowships for women in USA. Fellowships are provided in the field of in Peace and Development Studies. The Dorothy Senesh Fellowship is available to women from developing countries those who have completed a Bachelor’s degree, who has been accepted into a graduate program and whose graduate work is to be focused on issues related to the goals of IPRA. Every other year (beginning in 1990) one woman receives school expenses in the amount of $5,000 per year for two years. The application deadline is January 15, 2014.
