Peace Revolution BRIDGE Fellowship

Peace Revolution is awarding BRIDGE Fellowship in Georgia that will take place between 16-19 March 2017. Fellowships are awarded for learning and exploring self-development as a primary means to create real change in the world. This retreat aims to promote a culture of peace, peace education, conflict prevention and youth empowerment through the primary means of meditation and self-development. Applicants must have completed the 21 days of the online self-development program. The application deadline is December 15, 2016.

Sadako Ogata Masters Scholarship
University of London is offering masters scholarship for lower and middle income countries students to start their studies in March, 2017. Up to two prestigious scholarships are available to pursue MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies. Scholarship covers the ‘whole fee’ for the programme, comprising two Core Module fees, four Elective Module fees, and the two Dissertation modules fees. The application deadline is 16 January 2017.

Franklin Mosher Baldwin Memorial Fellowships
The Leakey Foundation is inviting applications for Franklin Mosher Baldwin Memorial Fellowships. These fellowships are intended for scholars and students of a developing country who wish to obtain an advanced degree from an institution outside the student’s home country. It is limited to two years of support. The maximum award is limited to $15,000 per year. The application deadline is February 15.

2016 FIG Foundation PhD Scholarships
FIG Foundation is offering PhD scholarships for applicants from low-income, lower-middle or upper-middle income economy. The FIG Foundation will be providing scholarships of up to 4,000 euros to PhD students. Applicant must be studying for a PhD degree and registered solely in a surveying/geomatics academic programme that teaches surveying are eligible to apply. The application deadline is 1 March.

2016 EDCTP-TDR Clinical Research
EDCTP and WHO/TDR are jointly implementing clinical fellowships to support researchers and key members of clinical trial research teams from Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs). WHO/TDR will fund fellows employed by a research institution (home organisation) in any LMICs for placements in pharmaceutical companies and PDPs (host organisations) either in or outside Europe. The application deadlines are 28 January 2016 (Stage 1) and 21 July 2016 (Stage 2: Training plan – EDCTP only).

Jay Jordan IFLA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellowship
This early career development fellowship program provides early career development and continuing education for library and information science professionals from countries with developing economies. Up to five individuals are selected each year for participation in this intensive four-week Fellowship Program based at OCLC’s headquarters in Dublin, Ohio, USA. Fellows visit selected libraries and cultural heritage institutions, meet with leading information professionals and observe OCLC’s governance structure in action. The application deadline is February 12.

IHRP Emerging Scholar Program
The Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP) of Mahidol University invites applications for emerging scholar program for undertaking Master of Arts in Human Rights (International Program). The scholarship is intended for students from developing countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The scholar will be expected to fulfill all course and thesis requirements within 18 months from commencement of the program. The scholarship allows for reduced tuition and thesis fees (4,200 Baht per credit to 1,200 Baht per credit each term and a 50 % of the cost of the thesis fee). There is no living allowance. The application deadline is March 31.

Dorothy Marchus Senesh Fellowship
International Peace Research Association Foundation is awarding up to two Senesh fellowship for women from developing countries. Fellowships are available for applicants who have completed a Bachelor’s degree, who have been accepted into a graduate program and whose graduate work is to be focused on issues related to the goals of IPRA. The Fellowships provide $5,000 per year for two years for both women, for a total of $10,000 each. Applications are due by January 15, 2016.

Open Society Civil Society Scholar Awards (CSSA), 2015-2016

Open Society Foundation is offering Civil Society Scholar Awards (CSSA) for doctoral students and full-time faculty members teaching at universities in their home country. The duration of this award is 2–10 months and the maximum funding for doctoral students is $10,000 and for faculty members is $15,000. The application deadline is March 2, 2015.

ISS Scholarships for International Students

Applications are invited for ISS scholarships available to applicants from certain countries i.e. Asia, Oceania, Africa, South America, Caucasus region and Balkans, Former Soviet Union states, EU and EEA countries, USA and Canada. Both full or partial scholarships are available for all students except from EU and EEA countries, USA and Canada as they can apply only for partial scholarships. Only approximately 50 full scholarships are granted. The application deadline is 1 February, 2015.

 

Scholarships for University Graduates, 2015-2016

The College of Europe offers a large number of scholarships to university graduates coming from European Neighbourhood Policy countries for post-graduate studies at the College of Europe during the academic year 2015-2016. Scholarships are open for the students of Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, the Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia and Ukraine. Scholarships cover academic expenses, accommodation, meals and travel costs. The application deadline is 31st of January 2015.

Intermediate Fellowships for Developing Countries

Wellcome Trust is offering research fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. The fellowships are awarded for up to five years and provide a basic salary. It covers research expenses and training costs. Applicants must have a relevant high-quality publication record and show potential to become a future scientific leader. Fellowships will be offered for up to five years (non-renewable). Preliminary application deadline is 29 April 2015 and full application deadline is 8 July.

ICO Three-Month Fellowships in Ophthalmology

Fellowships provide young ophthalmologists with exposure to and training in several subspecialties in ophthalmology. Applicant must be under 40 years of age at the time of applying. The fellowships will include S$6000 (maximum) to cover travel and living expenses. The application deadline is September 30 each year.

MOFCOM Master Degree Azerbaijan Scholarships 

The Government of the People’s Republic of China through the Government of Fiji is offering master degree Azerbaijan scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded for a period of one year. The age of applicants should be between 20 to 40. Azerbaijan scholarship is available to study master program in any one of these universities: East China Normal University [ECNU], Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU), China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU),  Beijing Normal University, Jilin University and Peking University (PU) in China. The application deadline varies for each university.

ICO-Retina Research Foundation Helmerich Fellowships

The International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) is offering two fellowships for Azerbaijani students. The fellowships worth of US$25,000 are offered to cover round trip travel, living expenses and professional expenses. The fellowship may be commenced anytime within 15 months after award notification. The application deadline is September 30 of each year.

TWAS-IROST Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme

Fellowships for Azerbaijani students are available for undertaking postdoctoral programme at Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology. TWAS-IROST Postdoctoral Fellowships in natural sciences are tenable for a minimum period of six months to a maximum period of twelve months at IROST. Last date of submitting applications is 15th September 2014.

Developing Solutions Masters Azerbaijan Scholarships

Applications are invited for developing solutions Azerbaijan scholarships in the academic year 2014/15. 15 fully funded scholarships are available for students from the developing and third world countries registering for taught Masters programmes at Malaysia Campus. The application deadlines are 15 July 2014 for September intake and 15 October 2014 for December 2014 intake.

TWAS-USM Fellowship Program

Azerbaijan fellowships are obtainable for undertaking research at postgraduate (PhD) and postdoctoral programme at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). USM will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs, such as accommodation and food. Applications will close on 15th September 2014.

SFIAR Awards for Azerbaijani Students in Switzerland

The Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research (SFIAR) is offering award in agricultural research. The prize sum of the SFIAR Award is CHF 5’000 for a PhD or Post Doc project and CHF 10’000 for a team project. Applications must be submitted by 15th July 2014.

TWAS-DBT Postgraduate Fellowship Programme 

Applications are invited for TWAS-DBT Postgraduate Fellowship Programme available for Azerbaijani students. Fellowships are tenable at key biotechnology research institutions in India for a period of up to five years. DBT will provide a monthly stipend to cover for living costs, food and health insurance. The application deadline is 31st August 2014.

TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme 

TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is available for young scientists from Azerbaijan. BIOTEC will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs, such as accommodation and food. Applicants must apply for the fellowship within five years of having obtained a PhD degree. The application deadline is 15th September 2014.

TWAS-icipe Fellowship Program

The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) is offering fellowship program for Azerbaijani students. Applicants must have official acceptance at an eligible department, institution or laboratory at icipe. Three PhD fellowships and one postdoctoral fellowship will be awarded. Closing date for submitting applications is 15th September 2014.

TWAS-NCP Postdoctoral Azerbaijan Fellowship

Applications are invited for Azerbaijan fellowship awarded to young scientists who wish to pursue postdoctoral research in physical sciences. Fellowship includes a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs such as food, accommodation and health insurance. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in a field of natural sciences. The deadline for applications is 15th September 2014.

ANZCA Azerbaijan Scholarship in Anaesthesia

Azerbaijan scholarship is available for consultant anaesthetist to work in a hospital in Australia or New Zealand for up to a year. Applicants must not hold another scholarship during the period of this scholarship. This Anaesthesia scholarship will be awarded for a year. Applicants must be submitted by 16th June, 2014.

TWAS-CSIR Fellowship Programme

Fellowships are available for pursuing research at postgraduate and postdoctoral level at laboratories and institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of India. The minimum period of this programme is six months and maximum is twelve months. The application deadline is 31st August of each year.

TWAS-CONACYT Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme

TWAS and CONACYT are inviting applications for TWAS-CONACYT postdoctoral fellowship programme. Azerbaijan fellowships cover standard monthly allowance and a fixed amount for mandatory health insurance coverage. Applicants must prove knowledge of Spanish or provide a certificate of proficiency in English. The application deadline is 15th September 2014.

Warwick IFP Anniversary Azerbaijan Scholarships

Azerbaijan scholarships are available for pursuing International Foundation Studies at University of Warwick in UK. There are 30 scholarships in total: 28 x £1,200 scholarships and 2 x £5,000 scholarships. Applicants have accepted the offer and paid the non-refundable course deposit. Applications should be submitted till April 30, 2014 and June 30, 2014.

TWAS-UPM Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme

Fellowships for Azerbaijani students are available to undertake postdoctoral research at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). UPM will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in a field of the natural sciences. The application deadline is 15th September 2014.

INSA JRD-Tata Fellowship Programme for Azerbaijani Students

The Indian National Science Academy (INSA) offers fellowship programme for Azerbaijani students. About 10 fellowships are awarded annually. The maximum period of award will be for three months. Selection is based on the recommendations of a committee consisting of eminent scientists. Last date of submitting applications is 31st October 2014.

TWAS-ICCBS Fellowship Program for Azerbaijani Students

Azerbaijan fellowships are available for undertaking research at postgraduate (PhD) and postdoctoral programme. ICCBS will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs, such as food, accommodation, local transportation and incidental illness. Applicants must provide a certificate of good health from a qualified medical doctor. The deadline for applications is 31st August 2014.

TWAS-IACS Fellowship Program for Azerbaijani Students

Azerbaijan fellowships are available for undertaking research at postgraduate and postdoctoral level at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS). Applicants must be of 30 years of maximum age for postgraduate and 40 years for postdoctoral programme on 31 December of the application year. Applications must be submitted by 31st August 2014.

Masters Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine

Fellowships are available for research training at Master’s degree level. A Fellowship normally provides up to 30 months’ support. Fellows must be based in a low- or middle-income country for their research project. A period of 12 months should normally be dedicated to undertaking a taught Master’s course at a recognised centre of excellence, combined with up to 18 months to undertake a research project. Applications will close on 15th August 2014.

TWAS-SN Bose Azerbaijan Fellowship

Azerbaijan fellowship is available for pursuing research at PhD and Postdoctoral level at S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Science. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree/PhD degree in physics, mathematics or physical chemistry. Applications must be submitted by 31 August 2014.

MBA Azerbaijan Scholarships at University of Glasgow

Azerbaijan scholarships are obtainable for undertaking master degree at University of Glasgow in UK. A total of 5 scholarships are available. The value of each scholarship is £5,000. The criteria for the scholarships are academic excellence and personal achievement. Applications should be submitted till 1st July 2014.

TWAS-CEMB Fellowship Program

Fellowships for Azerbaijani students are available for undertaking research at postgraduate (PhD) and postdoctoral level. Applicants must be a maximum age of 35 years for PhD and 45 years for postdoctoral programme on 31 December of the application year. The deadline for applications is 31st August 2014.
