IMMANA Postdoctoral Fellowships for International Applicants, 2017
Scholarship Provider: UK Department for International Development (DFID), UK government
Eligible Students: Applicants will have completed a doctorate (PhD, DPhil, DPH, MD, DVM or similar terminal degree) in any field related to agriculture, nutrition and health within three years of the proposed Fellowship start date, and be seeking a career in research, education and engagement at the intersection of two or more of these fields.
Course: Fellowships are available for undertaking postdoctoral research programme.
Award Details: Stipend of £34,000 (approximately $52,000) paid, research allowance of £7,500 to cover travel and other fieldwork expenses, honorarium of £1,750 to each of the mentors paid.

GDAI PhD Scholarship for African Students at SOAS in UK, 2017
Scholarship Provider: The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Governance for Development in Africa Initiative
Eligible Students: Applicants must be domiciled (or permanent residents) in an African country. Preference will be given to scholarship candidates living in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Course: Scholarship is available for undertaking PhD research programme (Full time) at SOAS in UK.
Award Details: It provides for fees, accommodation and living cost, cover in total 2 return flights, plus one week’s accommodation around the viva, an annual stipend of £5,000, and covers visa cost.

Desmond Tutu Masters Scholarship for Africans
Scholarship Provider: University of Edinburgh, UK
Eligible Students: The scholarship will be awarded to a student from Africa who is accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master’s programme of study within the School of Divinity.
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s degree level at University of Edinburgh.
Award Details: The scholarship will cover the full overseas tuition fee and a maintenance allowance of £5,000. The award will be tenable for one academic year.

IHRP Emerging Scholar Program at Mahidol University in Thailand, 2016-2017
Scholarship Provider: The Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP), Mahidol University, Thailand
Eligible Students: Must meet admissions requirements for the MA Human Rights (International Program); and be judged capable of finishing coursework and defending a thesis within 18 months. Very strong English skills.
 Course: Scholarship is available for pursuing MA degree programme.
Award Details: The scholarship allows for reduced tuition and thesis fees (4,200 Baht per credit to 1,200 Baht per credit each term and a 50 % of the cost of the thesis fee). There is no living allowance.

RSM Non-EEA Scholarship of Excellence in Netherlands, 2017-2018
Scholarship Provider: Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Netherlands
Eligible Students: Application for the scholarship is open for prospective IBA students (thus, not currently enrolled students) starting their studies in 2016/2017 from all non-EEA countries, provided they would be charged the non-EEA tuition fee.
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate degree program.
Award Details: Approximately 6,500 euro, waiver from the non-EEA tuition fee, fully covers the difference between the non-EEA tuition fee and the EEA tuition fee, scholarship part of the non-EEA tuition fee will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee before the start of the academic year, enabling you to immediately pay the reduced tuition fee; either at once or in installments.

Willamette MBA Global Diversity Scholarship in USA, 2016
Scholarship Provider: Willamette University, USA
Eligible Students: Bachelor degree from any listed country, who have excellent admission credentials (a strong record of academic success, excellent references and essays, and outstanding professional performance in the application process and the interview), a minimum 590 GMAT score or a GRE score averaging 154, completed the Willamette MBA application process by May 1st, and are admitted to the Willamette Early Career and Career Change MBA program may be eligible for an Atkinson School Global Diversity Scholarship of $5,000, in addition to an Atkinson School merit-based scholarship.
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing MBA program within the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at the Willamette University.
Award Details: Total scholarship award ranging from $21,000 to full-tuition for the Willamette Early Career/Career Change MBA program. The total award will include the $5,000 Global Diversity Scholarship and an Atkinson School Scholarship of $16,000 or more, based on their application credentials. The combination of the award types cannot exceed full tuition.

2016 EDCTP-TDR Clinical Research and Development Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) and WHO/TDR
Eligible Students: For EDCTP and WHO/TDR: Be a post-graduate (MSc or PhD) or medical graduate with clinical and/or research experience in infectious diseases, EDCTP2 and WHO/TDR programme.
-For EDCTP: The applicant must be a legal entity established in sub-Saharan Africa and must be the home organisation employing the fellow
-For WHO/TDR: The fellow must be a national or citizen, and resident in a LMIC.
Course:  Fellowships are available to early to mid-career clinical researchers and key members of clinical trial research teams to acquire experience and develop skills for conducting and implementing clinical trials outside an academic or public sector setting.
Award Details: Covers one economy class return ticket (home – host organisation – home); a monthly stipend; health insurance; an allowance to cover essential educational support materials; support to attend relevant meetings during the course of the fellowship; and funds to support the six month reintegration period.
Application Deadline: 28 January 2016 (Stage 1) and 21 July 2016 (Stage 2: Training plan – EDCTP only).

UCD Global Excellence Graduate Scholarships in Ireland, 2017-2018
Scholarship Provider: University College Dublin, Ireland
Eligible Students: Full time, one-year taught Masters programmes who are citizens of and resident in Africa, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea or Taiwan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam or Singapore, North America and Brazil. In order to be eligible to apply for this advertised scholarship, applicants must have ‘Offer’, ‘Conditional Offer’, ‘Accept’ or ‘Conditional Accept’ status associated with their application.
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing master programme at University College Dublin.
Award Details: It covers 100% and 50% tuition fee for Africa, China Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, North America and Brazil. For India, only 50% tuition fee is covered.

TGCL Scholarship for Postgraduate Students in Law, 2016
Scholarship Provider: Funded by the German Foreign Office through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
Eligible Students: The requirements for admission to the LLM and PhD programmes are those applicable at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law, i.e. for the LLM programme a Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or its equivalent from a recognised institution of higher legal education, and for the PhD programme an excellent LLM degree from a recognised institution.
Course: Scholarships are awarded for pursuing postgraduate study programme (LLM or PhD) at the Tanzanian-German Centre for Eastern African Legal Studies (TGCL).
Award Details: Cover the University fee and a health insurance. An annual amount of 2,400 EUR for Tanzanians and of 3,000 EUR for Non-Tanzanians will be paid to cover the cost of living. An additional lump sum of 30 EUR per month will be paid if you are not residing on campus. A once-off lump sum of 460 EUR for LLM and 920 EUR for PhD will be paid for the cost of research.

US/Canada Grants for Students of Developing Countries

Eligible Students: The MMMF awards education grants on a competitive basis to exceptional women from developing countries who have financial need and are committed to working to empower women and children.
Course: Grant is available towards the completion of the degree program in Canada and USA.
Award Details: An MMMF grant covers only a portion of the total costs for an academic year. Therefore, applicants need to access other financial resources. Disclosure of other resources is required.

Abraaj RCA Innovation Scholarship for Masters Students in UK, 2016

EMEA Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship, 2016-2017

 Eligible Students: Be a female student currently enrolled at a university for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Course: The scholarships are available for undergraduate or graduate degree level.
Award Details: Google Anita Borg Scholarship recipients will each receive a € 7,000 (or equivalent) award for the 2016-2017 academic years.

ECOWAS Research Grant Program for West African Researchers, 2016
Scholarship Provider: The Research Grant Program is supported by the ECOWAS Commission, the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID), the U.S National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
 Eligible Students: Research teams must comprise of young West African researchers of not more than 35 years of age (excluding Research Advisor(s)).
Course: Grants are available for conducting policy research.
Award Details: One thousand, five hundred euro (1,500 EUR). The grant will cover costs related to: Fieldwork, travel, Communication/documentation, Minor Equipment, Software, Office supplies, copying/printing, Support (research assistants/respondents), Payments will be made in three instalments: 50% upon signing of contract; 25% after final submission and acceptance of manuscript6, 25% upon acceptance of the research paper for publication by Editorial team.

Patrick McAuslan Scholarship for LLM at Birkbeck University of London in UK, 2016

Eligible Students: Applicant must have received a conditional or unconditional offer to study on the LLM International Economic Law (intensive – Justice and Development pathway).
Course: Scholarship is available for pursuing LLM programme at the Birkbeck, University of London.
Award Details: Covers tuition fees of £14,775 for one full-time international student of the LLM in International Economic Law (Intensive – Justice and Development pathway). Additionally it includes a monthly contribution towards living costs in London for the duration of the course from March to July (Approx. £ 5000). The total value of the award is worth GBP 20,000.

University of Ghana WACCBIP Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme, 2016
Scholarship Provider: Department of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology (BCMB) and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), University of Ghana, and has several regional and international partner institutions.
Eligible Students: Applicants must be an African who received his/her PhD degree within the last three years and interested in developing a research career in the biosciences in Africa.
Course: Fellowship is awarded to pursue postdoctoral programme.
Award Details: The successful post doctoral fellow will be supported with up to $150,000 to cover: A monthly salary, Research supplies and reagents, Conference grant, other related costs.

2016 Ural Federal University Masters Grants in Russia
Scholarship Provider: Ural Federal University, Russia
Eligible Students: Student should be a 2-4 year bachelor degree student or master degree student.
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing master program at the Ural Federal University.
Award Details: These year students have an opportunity to win a grant of 80.000 rubles to cover part of expenses incurred during the exchange period (training, transportation, accommodation etc).

African Union Kwame Nkrumah Scientific Awards (AUKNSA), 2016
Scholarship Provider: The Commission of the African Union
Eligible Students: The African Union Scientific Awards will be awarded to African scientists who have remarkable achievements, demonstrated by number of publications, number of research graduate students, applicability of the scientific work to Africa’s challenges, and its patentability.
Course: Prizes are available to scientists for their scientific achievements and valuable discoveries and findings.
Award Details: US$ 5,000 (Five thousand US Dollars) jointly conferred by the African Union Commission and TWAS for each scientific sector, US$20,000 (Twenty thousand US Dollars) for each scientific sector, conferred by the African Union Commission. The value of the Continental Scientific Award shall be US$100,000 (One hundred thousand US Dollars) for each scientific sector) conferred by the African Union Commission on the award winners in each sector.
Application Deadline: 30 October for Regional Award and 15 November for Continental award. The deadline for receipt of applications for national level award by the national office in charge shall be determined according to the date on the application form.

Acumen Global Fellowship Program for International Applicants

Eligible Students: Applications for the Global Fellowship are highly competitive. While Fellows have diverse backgrounds and each brings a unique skill set to the Fellowship,
Course: Global Fellows Program is a 12-month fellowship program.
Award Details: It provides Fellows with a stipend, monthly living costs, Acumen will also arrange appropriate health insurance and computing services including a laptop and video camera for use during the fellowship year.

Akili Dada Fellowship for Young African Women Leaders, 2016

Eligible Students: Must be a young woman between the ages of 23-30, Be from an economically disadvantaged background and Have a Social Enterprise (a business with a social impact) or a Social Innovation (an initiative that has social impact).
Course: This is a one year fellowship program.

Standard Bank Group Bursaries for African Students, 2016

Eligible Students: The Derek Cooper Africa Scholarship is aimed at high-performing individuals from the African continent who are looking to pursue a Masters degree at select higher learning institutions in the United Kingdom. All applicants are required to meet the application criteria for these institutions.

Global Challenges Fellowship Program (GCFP) in Germany, 2016-2017
Scholarship Provider: Volkswagen Foundation
Eligible Students: Applicants (in particular those working in the field of public policy) from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa and Turkey are eligible to apply. Applicants must be residents of these countries at the time of application.
Course: Fellows conduct research for journal articles and/or policy papers and participate in a series of small working group discussions and seminars.
Award Details: Allowance for accommodation in Budapest and Berlin as well as a monthly stipend, monthly stipend of 2,500 Euros for the duration of the program, Junior fellows will receive a net monthly stipend of 1,500 Euros, housing allowance, limited funds (up to 2,000 Euros) for travel to and from their home country and between Budapest and Berlin, as well as health insurance coverage.

 Women’s Peacebuilding Leadership Program (WPLP) for Kenyan Students, 2016

Eligible Students: Must be a Kenyan citizen from a conflict-affected community, A 4-year undergraduate degree, preferably in the social sciences. Candidates who do not meet these criteria but have undergraduate work of at least two years and have extensive peacebuilding experience may be considered.

Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing taught Masters programme or research degree at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in UK.

The University of Edinburgh Southern African Scholarship
Scholarship Provider: University of Edinburgh, UK
Eligible Students: The scholarship will be awarded to applicants from Southern African countries who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master’s programme of study or PhD degree programme at the University of Edinburgh.
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate study (master’s and PhD degree programmes) at University of Edinburg.
Award Details: This Southern African scholarship covers the overseas rate of tuition fee and University accommodation for the duration of the postgraduate degree programme.

Visiting Research Fellowships for African Students
Scholarship Provider: University of Cambridge, UK
Eligible Students: Applications are invited from candidates in all the disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.
 Course: Fellowships are awarded for research and writing programme.
Award Details: Each award is worth up to £14,000, out of which travel, college accommodation, maintenance costs and medical insurance will be paid by the Centre on behalf of the fellow. The Centre is not able to provide additional sums for the travel and living expenses of anyone accompanying the Fellow to Cambridge. The sum is not subject to tax in the UK.

Global Change Leaders Scholarship Program for Women from Developing Countries
Scholarship Provider: The Coady International Institute, St. Francis Xavier University
Eligible Students: This program is targeted to emerging women leaders from developing countries who are working on development issues
Course: It is a seven-week education program at Coady Institute’s International Centre for Women’s Leadership.
Award Details: It provides full scholarship that includes tuition, travel, accommodations, and meals. Successful participants are responsible for costs pertaining to acquiring a visa to enter Canada.

African Peacebuilding Network Research Grants
Scholarship Provider: The African Peace building Network (APN) of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC)
Eligible Students: All applicants must be African citizens currently residing in an African country and either an academic or a policy analyst or practitioner. Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
Course: Grants are awarded for conducting research.
Award Details: Grants of $15,000 value, and also covers necessary equipment  (within reason), books and articles, research/fieldwork-related travel, conference costs and related travel, project design and development support, and editorial and professional/institutional support.
Application Deadline: January 15th 2016.

Snorri Sturluson Icelandic Fellowships for African Students
Scholarship Provider: The Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies
Eligible Students: Writers, translators and scholars (not to university students) in the field of humanities, from outside Iceland, to enable them to stay in Iceland for a period of at least three months, in order to improve their knowledge of the Icelandic language, culture and society.
Course: These are minimum three months fellowships.
Award Details: Travel expenses to and from Iceland, plus living expenses while in the country.

Eligible Students: Applicants are applying for a full-time course at Southampton Solent University for 2014 entry, and
-Applicants are from one of the following areas: Africa, Bangladesh, Japan, North and South America, India, Pakistan, South Korea, Turkey
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing a full-time course at Southampton Solent University.
Award Details: Award of £1,000 towards tuition fee payment for first year of study will be awarded.

Mauritius-Africa Scholarships for African Students
Scholarship Provider: Government of Mauritius
Eligible Students: Students should have obtained a conditional offer in a course of undergraduate degree level at a public tertiary education institution in Mauritius.
Course:  Scholarships are available for pursuing full time undergraduate studies at public tertiary education institutions in Mauritius.
Award Details: Grant of up to MUR 100,000 per academic year, cover costs of university fees and charges, economy class air fare from and to the country of origin of the student by the most economical route at the start and end of the studies, and a monthly stipend of MUR 8,300 for subsistence allowance.

IC4HD Human Development (HD) Fellowships for African Students
Scholarship Provider: The International Centre for Human Development
Eligible Students: Applications are invited from all eligible candidates. Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
Course: This is 3 months residential fellowship for young professionals at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, India.
Award Details: Covers the living expenses for the Fellow as well as a return airfare to the country of residence as per the most economical and direct route by air. In addition, the selected fellows will receive an amount of INR 50,000 per month. Free furnished residential shared accommodation will be provided at IIAS.
 Application Deadline: 15th June.

Stanford Africa Fellowships for MBA Students
Scholarship Provider: Stanford Graduate School of Business, USA
Eligible Students: Applicants must be a citizen of an African country. Dual citizens are eligible for the fellowship as long as you hold citizenship of an African nation. Residents of an African country who do not have citizenship belonging to an African country are ineligible at this time.
Course:  Fellowships are for pursuing MBA program at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Award Details: Pays for tuition and associated fees (approximately US $140,000) for citizens of African countries with financial need who wish to obtain an MBA at Stanford GSB. Stanford will award up to eight Stanford Africa MBA Fellowships annually.
Application Deadline: 8 June.

UNESCO/People’s Republic of China Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme
Scholarship Provider: Government of the People’s Republic of China and UNESCO
Eligible Students: To be eligible, applicants must be a citizen of a developing country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.
 Course:  This program only supports, in general, one-year English-taught programs for general scholars and senior scholars. Scholarship recipients of Chinese-taught programs without adequate Chinese proficiency are required to get the approval from both CSC and UNESCO for one-year Chinese language study.
Award Details: This is a full scholarship which covers tuition waiver; accommodation; stipend; and medical insurance.
 Application Deadline: Applicants should apply to the National Commission for UNESCO in their home country between January and early April.

Middle East and North Africa Scholarships for African Students
Scholarship Provider: UWE Bristol University
Eligible Students: Applicant must have an offer of a place by 31 May 2014, be a new student and be classed as overseas for fees purposes
 Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree at UWE Bristol University.
Award Details: The scholarships will be awarded as follows: 1 x 100% of tuition fees and 2 x 50% of tuition fees.

Gradlink Africa Scholarship at UWE Bristol University 
Scholarship Provider: University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol, UK
Eligible Students: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree program at UWE Bristol University.
Course: Have either an unconditional offer or a conditional offer based on either a predicted A-level or IELTS if required, Be a new student and be classed as overseas for fees purposes
Award Details: Two scholarships cover 50% of first year fees and other six scholarships include £2,000 tuition fee discount.

Award Details: There will be 30 scholarships in total 10 Scholarships allocated (9 x £1,200 1 x £5,000) and 20 Scholarships allocated (19 x £1,200, 1 x £5000)

AFD ­PSIA Student Scholarships for African Students
Scholarship Provider: Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA) and the French Development Agency
Eligible Students: Are students admitted to the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA) for the 2014 intake, and enrolled in the Master in Development Practice (one year program). Students enrolled in the Master in International Development (two year program) are also eligible.
Course: Scholarships are available for pursuing masters degree at Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA).
Award Details: Partial to full tuition grants will be offered every year to incoming students in the Development programs of PSIA, coming from AFD priority countries in Africa. The AFD PSIA Scholarship goes towards covering tuition fees.

Duke of Portland Developing Solutions Scholarship for African Students
Scholarship Provider: University of Nottingham, UK
Eligible Students: Are a national of (or permanently domiciled in) Africa , are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes, already hold a full-time offer to start the MSc in Crop Improvement at Nottingham in September 2014.
Course: Scholarship is available for pursuing masters degree level at University of Nottingham.
Award Details: 1 Full Tuition Fee Scholarship will be available for a student from Africa.

Africa Biosciences Challenge Fund (ABCF) Research Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: The Africa Biosciences Challenge Fund (ABCF), Africa
Eligible Students: Nationals (passport holder) of a BecA-ILRI Hub target country: Burundi, Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Kenya, Madagascar, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. In exceptional cases we may consider applicants from other African countries.
Course: Fellowships are available for pursuing MSc or PhD program at a national agricultural research organization or university in a BecA-ILRI Hub target country.
Award Details: Research at the BecA-ILRI Hub, Travel, Medical insurance, Accommodation and Living allowance

Marshal Papworth Scholarships for Developing Countries’ Students
Scholarship Provider: Marshal Papworth Trust, UK
Eligible Students: Marshal Papworth scholarship fund one-year postgraduate courses such as MSc or MA. These are only for students from developing countries.
Course:
 Scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate and a short course programme.
Award Details: MSc & MA Scholarships vary in value from £14,500 to £21,500 depending on location and chosen university/ College. The scholarships are designed to fund the majority of tuition fees, living expenses and travel costs.
Application Deadline: 24th March.

IDB Scholarship Programme for Muslim Communities
Scholarship Provider: Islamic Development Bank
Eligible Students: Age not over 24 years, completed senior secondary education (pre-university study) with good grades in major science  subjects and  language of instruction.
 Course: The Programme provides scholarship to the academically meritorious but financially needy young Muslim students to pursue undergraduate or first-degree study in professional courses.
Award Details: The Programme covers all relevant expenses during students’ study period, including tuition fees, health and living costs as determined by the IDB.
Application Deadline: December.

BOF Doctoral Scholarships for African Students
Scholarship Provider: University of Ghent, Belgium
Eligible Students: Candidates need to come from – and have the nationality of – a developing country.
Course: Scholarships are available for PhD students who wish to carry out half of their PhD research at Ghent University and half at a university in a developing country.
Award Details: “Sandwich” type scholarship for a total of 24 months. Within a span of 48 months, the candidate needs to work on the PhD project both at Ghent University and the partner university.
Application Deadline: March 4

Postgraduate Bursaries for African Students
Scholarship Provider: Trinity College, Cambridge, UK
Eligible Students: Applicants for these Bursaries should have taken a first degrees, or equivalent, in their country of origin, and have not yet had a substantial period of study (more than 12 months) outside their own country.
Course:  Bursaries are offered for pursuing taught postgraduate course at the University of Cambridge, leading to the MASt, the MPhil or the LLM degree.
Award Details: have all approved University and College fees paid on her/his behalf to receive an adequate maintenance allowance (the rate for students undertaking a MASt, MPhil or LLM course is set at the minimum maintenance rate required by the Board of Graduate Studies, plus a settling in allowance of £350 (2013/14 rate) for overseas students); and to receive an allowance covering the cost of travel from the country of origin to the United Kingdom at commencement of the course and return at the end.
