African Graduate Fellowship for Ghanaian Students
American University in Cairo is offering graduate fellowship for Non-Egyptian African nationals. Fellowship is available for pursuing graduate (master) degree level at The American University in Cairo, Egypt. Applicants must have bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum overall rating of very good, an overall grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. Fellowships are awarded for two academic years and the intervening summer session. Application should be submitted till December 15.
SAWISE Angus Scholarship for Ghanaian Students
The Association of South African Women in Science and Engineering (SAWISE) is awarding scholarship for black female from sub-Saharan Africa. Scholarship is awarded only for studies at Honours level (or 4th year equivalent e.g. in engineering) in any field of science and engineering. The value of scholarship is R15 000 p.a. for a period of one year. South African applicants will be given preference. The application deadline is 15 November annually.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Danida Fellowship Programme
Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites Phase 1 applications for research grants related to development research. Applicants from North-driven (Denmark) and South-driven (Ghana, Nepal, and Tanzania) development research grant applicants are eligible to apply for this programme. Tertiary Education Scholarship Trust (Test) is offering two fully funded Scholarships for Ghanaian students. Intermediate Fellowships for Ghanaian Students
Wellcome Trust is offering research fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Research should be aimed at understanding and improving public health and tropical medicine of local, national and global relevance. Fellows must be based primarily in a low- and middle-income country. The fellowships are awarded for up to five years and provide a basic salary. Chancellor’s International Scholarship
University of Surrey offers Chancellor’s Scholarship for UK, EU and international students. The scholarship provides a £2,000 cash award for the first year of study and membership of Surrey Sports Park for the duration of course. Scholarship will be available to students who select Surrey as their firm choice by 30 June 2015 and are paying the full £9,000 fees (UK/EU) or above (International students) on an undergraduate course. West Africa Merit Scholarship
University of Aberdeen is inviting application for West Africa merit scholarship to commence full time postgraduate masters program in September 2015. Nigerian/Ghanaian nationals, who are normally resident in Nigeria/Ghana are eligible for this scholarship. The University of Nottingham, in partnership with GSK, is offering 3 full Developing Solutions scholarships for outstanding students from Sub-Saharan Africa for 2015/2016 entry. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be already holding an offer to start a full-time master’s degree programme (MSc), at Nottingham for September 2015 in an area of study. Developing Solutions Scholarships for Ghanaian Students
University of Nottingham is inviting applications for developing solutions masters scholarships available for the students of Ghana. Applicants must already hold an offer to start a full-time masters degree programme, including MRes at Nottingham for September 2015. Up to 105 scholarships are awarded. Up to 30 scholarships will cover 100% tuition fee and up to 75 scholarships will cover 50% towards tuition fees. The application deadline is 24 April 2015.

German Research Foundation is inviting applications for TWAS-DFG cooperation visits programme available for Sub-Saharan Africans. Fellowship is open for postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa, with the opportunity to make a ‘Cooperation Visit’ to an institute in Germany of no more than 3 months. Masters Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine
Wellcome Trust is inviting applications for masters fellowships to undertake research training at Master’s degree level. Master’s degrees by distance learning can be supported. Fellows must be based in a low- or middle-income country for their research project. A Fellowship normally provides up to 30 months’ support. A period of 12 months should normally be dedicated to undertaking a taught Master’s course at a recognised centre of excellence, combined with up to 18 months to undertake a research project. The application deadline is 2 March 2015.
University of Groningen Talent Grant
Applications are invited for University of Groningen Talent Grant for Excellent candidates from non-EEA countries. The grant is usually awarded for a maximum of 2 years for a Master’s degree programme. The amount of the partial scholarship is determined annually. TWAS Prizes for Developing Countries’ Scientists
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is awarding eight prizes of USD 15,000 each to individual scientist. Nominations of women scientists are particularly encouraged. Eight TWAS prizes will be awarded. Each prize is accompanied by a medal. Selection of the awardees is made on scientific merit and on the recommendations of the selection committees composed of TWAS members. The application deadline is 28th February 2015.
Early Career Development Fellowship
This fellowship is available for early career development and continuing education for library and information science professionals. Applicants must have at least three years, but no more than eight years, of library or information science experience. The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and OCLC jointly sponsor up to five individuals annually to participate in a four-week intensive Early Career Development Fellowship program based at OCLC’s headquarters in Dublin, Ohio, USA. The Fellows visit many libraries, cultural heritage institutions and library organizations. The application deadline is February 13, 2015.
Eldred-Waverley Scholarship for Ghanaian Students
University of Oxford is offering MSc scholarship in African Studies for the students of Ghana. This scholarship for Ghanaian students is only tenable at Linacre College. All eligible applicants will be considered for this scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) they state as their preference on the graduate application form. However, successful applicants will be transferred to Linacre College in order to take up the scholarship. The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees, a grant for living costs (of at least £10,397) and a return flight from your home country to UK. MMDP Full Scholarships for Ghanaian Students
Dutch ministry of Foreign Affairs awards up to ten full scholarships to government officials from 40 developing countries with at least three years’ experience in the field of migration and/or asylum. Scholarships are available for three month Migration Management Diploma Programme (MMDP) at UNU-MERIT and MGSoG. To be eligible for this scholarship, participants must obtain support from their employers, in the form of a letter stating that they will still be employed and paid for the duration of the programme. The application deadline is 16 January 2015.
African Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowships (ADDRF)
The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) in partnership with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is offering around 20 doctoral dissertation fellowships at a recognized sub-Saharan African university. Each award will be up to a maximum of US$10,000. Fellowships will be awarded to doctoral students who are within two years of completing their thesis at an African university and whose dissertation topics focus on health systems. MSFS Scholarship for Ghanaian Students
Georgetown University is offering master scholarship for Sub-Saharan African students. Students will take courses in international relations, international trade, international finance, statistics and analytical tools and history. Ghana Awards are available for thesis or dissertations in Arts and Sciences. Three types of awards will be given: Gold Award, Silver Award and Candidates Bronze Award. The Gold Award is given for the most distinguished contribution to knowledge by a Ghanaian in a specific field. For Silver Award, works offered may include these or dissertations presented by a Ghanaian for any of the higher degrees, accepted by a recognized Ghanaian University between 2008 and 2013. Bronze Award is open to all undergraduate students in tertiary institutions in Ghana. Applications should be submitted till 31st December 2014.
MMMF Grant for Women of Developing Countries
Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund is offering grant for women of developing countries in South Africa. Applicant must be women and enrolled at the University of Pretoria, the University of Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch or the University of Witwatersrand. The next round for consideration will start April 2015 for award in academic year 2016.
African Peacebuilding Network (APN) Individual Research Grants
APN individual research grants are offered to African researchers, policy analysts and practitioners working on conflict and peacebuilding issues at universities and research institutions or regional governmental and nongovernmental organizations in Africa. Up to ten individual grants of $15,000 will be awarded. Grants are awarded on a competitive, peer-reviewed basis and are intended to support six months of field-based research, from May 2015 to November 2015. The application deadline is December 14, 2014.
Developing Country Eye Researcher Travel Fellowships
ARVO Foundation for Eye Research in partnership with the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology are inviting applications for research travel fellowships.. These fellowships for Ghanaian students are awarded to pursue a career in teaching and research in any area of eye and vision research, whether basic or clinical research in applicants’ home countries. Fellowship covers transportation, lodging and per diem, in addition to registration for the ARVO Annual Meeting and complimentary ARVO membership for one year. Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships
Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission offers excellence scholarships for foreign scholars and artists in Switzerland. The scholarships are available for pursuing PhD, postdoctoral and research programs at one of the public funded universities or recognized institution. The applicant must not be more than 35 years old at the moment of the application. The Scholarship is only valid for a full time Postdoctoral Research or Research in Switzerland. It is not valid for mixed Postdoctoral Research or mixed Research (part time in Switzerland and part time in a third country).
Canadian Government Doctoral Research Scholarships
Each year, the government of Canada offers doctoral research scholarships for international students. Scholarships are awarded for pursuing doctoral studies at Québec University in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering fields. The maximum annual value of the scholarship is $20 000. The scholarship holder may also receive up to nine payments totaling $60 000 during the nine sessions or 36 months. Only students who have been pre selected by a Québec university may apply for these scholarships. Applicants must consult the deadlines of the universities for pre selection. The deadline for submitting complete files directly to the FRQNT is November 1st, 2014.

Netherlands Fellowship Programme for Developing Countries’ Students
Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation is offering Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) for developing country applicants. WAAW Foundation Scholarship for Undergraduate African Women

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is funding master scholarships in Public Policy and Good Governance at German institution in Germany. A monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 € will be awarded. Applications are invited for WASCAL graduate research program on Climate Change (CC) and Agriculture (CC&Agric). Candidates must be from the WASCAL countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo) and must not be more than 40 years. Application should be submitted till March 31, 2014.
