CAORC Research Fellowships for US and Foreign Nationals, 2018-2019

The Council of American Overseas Research Centers is now accepting applications for The NEH Senior Research Fellowship Program and CAORC Multi-Country Research Fellowship for the 2018-19 academic year. This fellowship is available for US and Foreign nationals.

Founded in 1981, the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) is a private nonprofit federation of independent overseas research centers (ORCs) that promote advanced research, particularly in the humanities and social sciences, with a focus on the conservation and recording of cultural heritage and the understanding and interpretation of modern societies.

CAORC Multi-Country Research Fellowship

  • Group projects are admissible and will be evaluated as a single application. Groups should submit one (1) application for the group project and Curriculum Vitae for each member of the group. Digital Earth Research Fellowship for Artists and Designers in Africa and Asia, 2018

  • Study Subject: Digital Earth is a 6 month-long fellowship for artists and designers based in Africa or Asia, working across a variety of media, who would like to investigate our current technological reality. It is a unique research support programme, which supports experienced artists to reflect, research, experiment and produce work. Examples of possible research topics are: the infrastructure of Mongolian crypto-mining, the performativity of the robot-ports on the Siberian coastline, the soundscapes of the coltan mines in the heartlands of Congo, the cultural protocols of freeport zones, the aesthetics of satellite imagery, the agency of machinic vision, the political imaginations of geoengineering projects – and more.
  • Scholarship Award: The Digital Earth Fellowship provides:
    A stipend to enable research, experimentation and to produce work in a specific geographic location in Africa or Asia, for 6 months. The exact amount of the stipend will be based on the cost of living in the country where the research will take place.

CADI Fellowship Programme in Germany, 2018

Applications are invited for CADI Fellowship Programme. These fellowships are open to the scientist from Central Asia region doing research in conservation and sustainable use of temperate deserts.

The Fellowship aims at scientists that have the support of their home countries institutions and a clear commitment to a career in their country of origin.

CADI is jointly implemented by the Michael Succow Foundation (Germany), the University of Greifswald (Germany) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Sub-regional Office for Central Asia (Ankara, Turkey).

ASEM DUO-Sweden Fellowship Programme in Sweden and Asian Countries, 2018-2019

For the academic year, 2018-2019 ASEM-DUO Secretariat is offering DUO-Sweden Fellowship Programme to undergraduate and graduate students who are currently enrolled in universities.

DUO-Sweden Fellowship Program was established in 2010 with the aim of promoting exchanges of people between Sweden and Asian countries on a balanced basis.

The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is an intergovernmental process established in 1996 to foster dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe. Presently it comprises 53 partners: 30 European and 21 Asian countries, the European Union and the ASEAN Secretariat. ASEM addresses political, economic, social, cultural, and educational issues of common interest, in a spirit of mutual respect and equal partnership.

Applications should focus on building a collaborative network and therefore should be submitted jointly by a lead overseas researcher from a developing country and a lead researcher based in the UK.

To be eligible to apply, both applicants must:

  • Have completed a PhD or have to experience at an equivalent level
  • Have proven research experience in their field
  • Hold a permanent position at an eligible institution (in the UK or a DAC-listed country), or a fixed term contract for the duration of the award

Lead applicants must not be affiliated with a private or commercial organization. Applications will not be considered if there is more than one UK co-applicant or an overseas applicant not from a DAC-listed country.

This grant forms part of the UK’s Official Development Assistance (ODA), which promotes economic development and welfare in developing countries. In order for applications to be eligible for this grant, applicants must clearly show that their proposal’s aims are in-line with those of the ODA. These include strengthening global peace and security, promoting global prosperity and tackling extreme poverty. Fellowship Training Programme in Pain Management at Mahidol University in Thailand, 2018

The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University is delighted to offer its Fellowship Training Programme in Pain Management to encourage 1-year training to ensure that trainee has learned and trained skill in managing pain. The amount of tuition fee 12,500 USD (for the one-year program) will be granted by IASP and WFSA for the successful applicants (two positions a year).

The objective of the programme is to develop physicians that competent in basic knowledge of pain management (as per program).
