Zhejiang University Asian Future Leaders Scholarship in China, 2019

The Zhejiang University is offering Asian Future Leaders Scholarship to the students to pursue master’s degree program. Scholarship is available to the citizens of Asian countries.

CTR Biosciences Fellowship Program for Early to Mid-Career Biological Scientists in USA, 2019

Applications are now being accepted for CTR Biosciences Fellowship Program for the year 2018-2019. Students from Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon are eligible to apply for this fellowship.

The goal of the fellowship is to promote biological safety and security (BS&S) by increasing technical capacity for biological scientists in the Middle East and South Asia (MESA) region and to establish a regional network for sustainable cooperation on laboratory diagnosis and BS&S standards.

Selected fellows will conduct a science fellowship, requiring the fellow to travel for four to six months in duration, to engage in research at a host institution different than their home country beginning no earlier than September 2019.

Digital Earth Research Fellowship for Artists and Designers in Africa and Asia, 2018

The new 6 months long Digital Earth Research Fellowship is available on offer for artists and designers. This fellowship is available for the students from Asia and Africa.

The fellowship is aimed at artists and designers at a stage in their career wishing to take 6 months for reflection and research.

Digital Earth: A fellowship for research and experimentation with and around the materiality and immateriality of the digital reality.

  • Study Subject: Digital Earth is a 6 month-long fellowship for artists and designers based in Africa or Asia, working across a variety of media, who would like to investigate our current technological reality. It is a unique research support programme, which supports experienced artists to reflect, research, experiment and produce work. Examples of possible research topics are: the infrastructure of Mongolian crypto-mining, the performativity of the robot-ports on the Siberian coastline, the soundscapes of the coltan mines in the heartlands of Congo, the cultural protocols of freeport zones, the aesthetics of satellite imagery, the agency of machinic vision, the political imaginations of geoengineering projects – and more.
  • Scholarship Award: The Digital Earth Fellowship provides:
    A stipend to enable research, experimentation and to produce work in a specific geographic location in Africa or Asia, for 6 months. The exact amount of the stipend will be based on the cost of living in the country where the research will take place.

Kurdistan Regional Government Kurd Scholarships for International Students in Iraq, 2018-2019

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Kurdistan Regional Government is offering new scholarships for international to pursue an undergraduate programme. Individuals of Kurdish descent and Iraqi and Kurdistan Region citizens are not eligible to apply.

The Kurdistan Regional Government is the official ruling body of the predominantly Kurdish region of Northern Iraq referred to as Iraqi Kurdistan or Southern Kurdistan.

In order to be eligible for non-native speakers, a 4.5 IELTS or its equivalent in an English proficiency exam is required.

Scholarship Description: 

  • Applications Deadline: August 1, 2018
  • Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue undergraduate programme.
  • Study Subject: Scholarships are available for the 2018-2019 undergraduate programs in the Kurdish language, literature, and culture at selected universities.
  • Scholarship Award: The Kurd Scholarship includes the following:
  1. Airport transfer to the host university upon initial arrival.
  2. 600 USD monthly stipends toward living costs for the duration of the study period including the foundation year.  Free dormitory room in the host university.

  4. Annual medical insurance of 500 USD for medical treatment in the Kurdistan Region only.

Fully Funded ISPA Middle East & Northern Africa (MENA) Fellowship Program in Netherlands, 2018

Applications are invited for the Middle East & Northern Africa (MENA) Fellowship Program for the students of Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Syria or Yemen. This is a fully funded fellowship available in the Netherlands.

ISPA is a global network of more than 500 leaders in the performing arts with representation from more than 185 cities and all regions of the globe. ISPA members include facilities, performing arts organizations, artist managers, competitions, funders, consultants and other professionals working in the performing arts.

Fund Networking Research Grants for Developing Countries in UK, 2018

­ The Academy of Medical Sciences in partnership with the British Academy, the Royal Academy of Engineering, and the Royal Society, is proud to offer GCRF (Global Challenges Research Fund) Networking Grants for the applicants of developing countries and the UK.

Entrance Requirements: To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following requirements:

Applications should focus on building a collaborative network and therefore should be submitted jointly by a lead overseas researcher from a developing country and a lead researcher based in the UK.

To be eligible to apply, both applicants must:

  • Have completed a PhD or have to experience at an equivalent level
  • Have proven research experience in their field
  • Hold a permanent position at an eligible institution (in the UK or a DAC-listed country), or a fixed term contract for the duration of the award

Lead applicants must not be affiliated with a private or commercial organization. Applications will not be considered if there is more than one UK co-applicant or an overseas applicant not from a DAC-listed country.

This grant forms part of the UK’s Official Development Assistance (ODA), which promotes economic development and welfare in developing countries. In order for applications to be eligible for this grant, applicants must clearly show that their proposal’s aims are in-line with those of the ODA. These include strengthening global peace and security, promoting global prosperity and tackling extreme poverty. Mophradat Art Fellows Programme for Students from Arab Regions in Germany, 2018

The new Mophradat Art Fellows Programme offers a training program at European art institutions for young Arab curators, arts managers, art producers, and arts administrators.
The fellow will be part of the team related to the Open Border Ensemble project in the theatre.

It is intended to help them develop their knowledge, skills, and professional networks.

The Munich Kammerspiele is a state-funded German-language theatre company based at the Schauspielhaus on Maximilianstrasse in the Bavarian capital.

Scholarship Description:

  • Course Level: This is an eight weeks training programme. This programme offers a training program at European art institutions for young Arab curators, arts managers, art producers, and arts administrators.

Eligibility for the Scholarship: 

Eligible Countries: Applicants must be from the Arab world or be of recent Arab origin (Algeria, Bahrain, the Comoros Islands, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen) are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.

Entrance Requirements:

  • Applicants must have at least three years of experience in a field of contemporary arts
  • Applicants must have a basic level of English or German
  • Applicants must have been living in Munich for at least one year
  • Applicants must be from the Arab world or be of recent Arab origin
  • Applicants must be available to commit themselves fully to the program, which will begin on January 15, 2018.
  • Holding a degree in an arts discipline or related cultural field is preferred
  • Undergraduate students are not eligible to apply

English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Al Ghurair STEM Scholars Program for Young Arab Citizens, 2018

Applications are invited for Al Ghurair STEM Scholars Program for Young Arab Citizens for the year 2018. The scholarship supports students to pursue Bachelors and Master degree programme in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).

The Foundation expects scholars to be the future generation of leaders for the Arab World and to contribute to the development of their communities. Therefore, Al Ghurair STEM Scholars have a moral obligation to live in the Arab World after graduation and use their acquired skills and knowledge to amplify the impact of their education in their communities.

The Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for education provides access to opportunity for high-achieving, underserved Emirati and Arab youth.

  • Entrance Requirements:
    • Arab citizen from who does not have another citizenship.?
    • Be in financial need and able and willing to provide proof of financial need.?
    • Age 17-30 years old.?
    • Earned no less than an 85% GPA in high school (if applying as a new student to an undergraduate ?degree) or no less than a 3.2 at university (for existing student who completed 50% at most of ?their degree program requirements).?
    • Be proficient in language of the program (English/French) to standards acceptable by top ?universities.?
    • Be admitted to one of our partner universities for an undergraduate or graduate degree in a ?STEM-related program or planning to apply before respective deadline.?
    • Preference will be given to applicants who have lived in the Arab World for at least 12 years of ?their life.?

    The Al Ghurair Foundation also considers the financial need of applicants. Applicants may have to ?submit supporting documentation to the Foundation regarding their financial need. Applicants must also ?be accepted into one of the selected STEM undergraduate degree programs.

  • English Language Requirements:  All applicants have to write English essays as part of their program application. However, for students only applying to our French partner university, the assessment of essays (especially for grammar and language) will take into consideration that the student would not be studying in English. We encourage all students to do their best in writing these essays and develop compelling ideas, regardless of university choice.
