Egypt has the leading education system in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and it has developed swiftly since the early 1990s. In recent years the government has accorded even greater priority for improving the education system. Egyptian students who want to pursue their higher education globally; here is a good opportunity for them to make their dreams come true. There are lots of scholarships available exclusively for the Egyptian students. These scholarships will provide excellent financial inducements for students wishing to study undergraduate, graduate, PhD and postdoctoral programs abroad. Below is the compiled list of scholarships for Egyptian students.
African Graduate Fellowship for Egyptians
American University in Cairo is offering graduate fellowship for Non-Egyptian African nationals. Fellowship is available for pursuing graduate (master) degree level at The American University in Cairo, Egypt. Applicants must have bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum overall rating of very good, an overall grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. Fellowships are awarded for two academic years and the intervening summer session. Application should be submitted till December 15.
Canadian Government Doctoral Research Scholarships
Each year, the government of Canada offers doctoral research scholarships for international students. Scholarships are awarded for pursuing doctoral studies at Québec University in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering fields. The maximum annual value of the scholarship is $20 000. The scholarship holder may also receive up to nine payments totaling $60 000 during the nine sessions or 36 months. Only students who have been pre selected by a Québec university may apply for these scholarships. Applicants must consult the deadlines of the universities for pre selection. The deadline for submitting complete files directly to the FRQNT is November 1st, 2015.
Westminster 175 Masters Scholarships for Egyptian Students
University of Westminster is inviting applications for international scholarships for full-time masters degree program. Applicants must be an international student from one of the countries listed and hold an offer for a full-time Masters at the University. Scholarships include half tuition fee. The application deadline is 16 October 2015.
WAAW Foundation Scholarship for Undergraduate African Women
Applications are invited for WAAW Foundation 2016 scholarship. Scholarships are available for African women to study as full time students in a STEM related course at a University, College or institute of higher learning in Africa. Scholarship recipients receive an award of $500 for the 2016 academic year, or the equivalent in their country’s local currency. Prior scholarship recipient may reapply for renewal the following year, with proof of continued excellent academic performance. The application deadline is 30 September, 2015.
NATO Defense College (NDC) PfP, MD and OMC/PAG Fellowships
Applications are invited for NATO fellowships in the field of defence & security policy research & related to NATO and its partners. Two Fellowships are available for candidates from PfP countries, two for candidates from MD countries, two for candidates from NATO countries, and one for a candidate from an OMC/PAG Country. The duration of each Fellowship is four months. The Fellow will be located at the NATO Defense College, in Rome, Italy. Each Fellow will receive the amount of sixteen thousand euros. The application deadline is 30 September 2015.
Open Society Civil Society Leadership Award (CSLA) Program
Applications are invited for Civil Society Leadership Awards (CSLA) available for fully funded master’s degree study at universities participating in the CSLA program. Awards are available to individuals who clearly demonstrate academic and professional excellence and a deep commitment to leading positive social change in their communities. CSLA directly assists future leaders in countries where civil society is challenged by a deficit of democratic practice in local governance and social development. Competition for CSLA scholarships is open and merit-based. The application deadline is September 15, 2015.
Call for Applications: CARTA PhD Fellowships in Africa
The Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) is offering 25 PhD fellowships for 2015-2016 academic year. Applicants for this program must be teaching or research staff at one of the participating African institutions and should be committed to contributing towards building capacity at their institutions. The fellowship runs for a maximum of four years. The fellowship will cover tuition fees and medical insurance. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2015.
DAAD Scholarships for Egyptian Students
Applications are invited for DAAD scholarships from developing countries‘ students. The scholarships are available for pursuing a postgraduate degree at German institutions of Higher education. These scholarships provide monthly installment of EUR 750.00. and also include the costs for health, accident and liability insurance in Germany and an adequate travelling allowance.
Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships
Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission offers excellence scholarships for foreign scholars and artists in Switzerland. The scholarships are available for pursuing PhD, postdoctoral and research programs at one of the public funded universities or recognized institution. The applicant must not be more than 35 years old at the moment of the application. The Scholarship is only valid for a full time Postdoctoral Research or Research in Switzerland. It is not valid for mixed Postdoctoral Research or mixed Research (part time in Switzerland and part time in a third country).
Czech Republic Government Scholarships for Developing Countries
Applications are invited for Czech Government Scholarships available for foreign nationals from developing countries to pursue Bachelor/ Master/ Doctoral degree program at public universities in the Czech Republic. The scholarships may not be granted to persons under 18 years of age (the applicants have to turn 18 as of 1 September of the year when they commence studies in the Czech Republic at the latest). These Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study. The application deadline is 30 September.
MMMF Grant for Women of Developing Countries in Latin America
Applications are invited for MMMF Latin America Grants for the academic year 2015/2016. These grants are available to women in developing countries who have financial need and are dedicated to working for the empowerment of women and children in developing countries. Applicants must be enrolled as a student at least half-time (minimum of 2 subjects per semester or grade) or be full-time student in any of the eligible Latin American Universities and be registered for the academic year in which the scholarship is granted (January / December or September / May depending on the country). The application deadline is August 30th, 2015.
Supporting Excellence Postgraduate Scholarship Programme
HRH Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Bin Talal Alsaud at Coventry University is inviting applications for supporting excellence postgraduate scholarship programme. Applications will only be accepted from students who hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on an MBA or MSc programme at Coventry University London Campus. Each of the five scholarships available will cover the full tuition fee of an MBA or MSc progamme offered at Coventry University London Campus. The application deadline is 24 August 2015.
INSEAD Need-Based Scholarships for Egyptian Students
Applications are invited for need-based scholarships available for international students to study MBA programme. Preference will be given to candidates residing in emerging/developing countries and for those who will have limited access to loans. The value of scholarship is €12,000. Selection will be based on financial need. Applications must be submitted by 17 August 2015.
INSEAD MBA ’91 June Endowed Scholarship for Egyptian Students
INSEAD Business School is funding MBA Scholarship for the students of developing countries. This scholarship is awarded once in a year for disadvantaged students from developing countries who are in financial need. After the completion of the program the students have to return their own country. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need. Applications must be submitted by 12 August 2015.
INSEAD Sam Akiwumi Endowed Scholarship for African Students
INSEAD staff and former colleagues award scholarship for African students for studying MBA course at Insead Campuses. Preference will be given to Ghanaian students and to candidates who demonstrate financial need. Scholarship has a value of up to €10,000. Applications will close on 12 August 2015.
ESMT Masters in Management Scholarships for Egyptian Students
European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) is inviting applications for masters in management scholarships to cover partial tuition. There are four types of scholarships available: one ESMT Americas Scholarship; one ESMT Asia Scholarship; one ESMT Central and Eastern Europe Scholarship and one ESMT Middle East and Africa Scholarship. The value of each scholarship is up to € 10,000. Scholarships are allocated based on academic excellence, personal and professional achievement, leadership potential, and interpersonal skills. The application deadlines are May 31 and July 31.
International Scholarships at Southampton Solent University
Southampton Solent University is offering scholarships for international students to pursue a full-time course for 2015 entry. Scholarships are open for the students of Africa, Bangladesh, Japan, North and South America, India, Pakistan, South Korea and Turkey. Scholarship Award of £1,000 towards tuition fee payment for first year of study will be awarded. The application deadline is 31 July 2015.
Fulbright Egyptian Scholar Program
The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt invites application for an Egyptian Scholar program available for postdoctoral faculty members and arts management professionals to conduct research at American institutions. Grant duration ranges from three to nine months. Grants include Stipend, Professional and excess baggage allowances and Medical insurance. The application deadline is July 16, 2015.
African Postgraduate Scholarships at Edinburgh Napier University
Edinburgh Napier University is inviting applications for merit based African postgraduate scholarships. The scholarships of between GBP £1000 – £3000 are for entry onto a full time postgraduate programme in September 2015 and January 2016. Students who are domiciled in Africa at the time of application and are self-funding their course are eligible for a merit based scholarships. Applications for courses are submitted by July for courses starting in September and by the end of November for courses starting in January.
RREF MSc Scholarship for Egyptian Student
The Reading Real Estate Foundation is offering a MSc Scholarship for African Student to pursue full-time postgraduate real estate & planning programme at Henley Business School. Successful students will receive the full degree tuition fees of their chosen Real Estate & Planning postgraduate programme and the opportunity to act as an Ambassador for RREF. ANESI’s Visiting Fellowship for Outstanding Women Geoscientists
Applications are invited for ANESI’s visiting Fellowship for Outstanding Women Geoscientists. Fellowship is availble for best performing female students to pursue post-graduate education (PhD programmes) and career in Earth sciences. A maximum grant of 2500 USD/fellow will cover the travel and subsistence costs. Al Alfi Foundation and American University in Cairo (AUC) are jointly offer fellowship for Egyptian students to pursue master in science in sustainable development. Fellowships are awarded to the most outstanding candidates who are able to complete the program in the shortest amount of time. The fellowship covers a full or partial waiver of tuition fees, student services and activities and cost of books. The deadline for applications is June 15, 2015.
UWE Bristol University Gradlink Scholarships for Egyptian Students
Applications are invited for UWE Scholarships available for international students from Africa, Canada, China, India and Malaysia. These scholarships are awarded to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate program. Two scholarships cover 50% of first year fees and other six scholarships include £2,000 tuition fee discount. Fulbright Egyptian Student Program in USA
Applications are invited for Fulbright Student Program available for Egyptian nationals. The program will provide grant opportunities for university graduates, masters and doctoral degree candidates and young professionals and artists to study and conduct research in USA. Three types of grants will be awarded: Masters Degree Grants for a period of up to two years, Non-degree Grants for six to nine months and Fine and Applied Arts Grants for a period of six to nine months. AUC Empower Scholarship for Egyptian Students
The American University in Cairo (AUC) is offering five full and/or partial annual scholarships to thanawiya amma graduates from five governorates in Upper Egypt: Assiut, Beni Suef, Menya, Sohag and Fayyoum. Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate degree in all disciplines available at the university. Selected students will benefit from AUC’s liberal arts education, diverse majors and extensive student-life services, and will also have the benefit of enrollment in the Gerhart Center’s youth leadership and civic engagement programs. Steve Huckvale Scholarships for Egyptian Students
University of Bath is awarding scholarships for African students who are intending to study Engineering or Management. All the scholarships are for international fee-paying applicants for full-time taught masters degrees (MA/MSc/MBA) at the University of Bath in 2015. Each Scholarship is of worth £5,000. The scholarships range from £2,000 to £5,000 depending on the type of scholarship. Each is awarded as a discount in tuition fees and is for one year only. Scholarships cannot be deferred to a later year. The application deadline is 1 June 2015.
MBA Full-time Scholarship for Egyptian Students
University of Strathclyde is offers full-time scholarship for female students from Asia/Africa. Scholarship is available for pursuing master’s degree in business administration at University of Strathclyde. Candidates must demonstrate through their ideas, experience and achievements that they are an excellent team player, with a strong vision for the future. The amount of scholarship is £10,000. Estonian School of Diplomacy Training Scholarship Program
Estonian School of Diplomacy is offering nine-month training scholarship program for young diplomats and civil servants for 2015/16 academic year. IDPM Development Leadership Scholarships for Egyptians
University of Manchester is offering three IDPM Development Leadership Scholarships. Scholarships provide a full tuition fee waiver for on-campus Masters programmes commencing in September 2015, valued at up to £16,000. To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants should already hold an unconditional offer to study on an IDPM Master’s programme and must not have previously studied in a developed country. The closing date for applications for September 2015 is 29 May 2015.
UCL IGH African Graduate Scholarships
UCL Institute for Global Health is offering African graduate scholarships to study MSc Global Health and Development programme at UCL. The scholarship is a one-off award for the academic year September-September. The scheme offers a substantial scholarship towards UCL tuition fees, accommodation and some living costs. The candidate must also be able to provide evidence that he/she has secured other sources of funding for travelling to and from the UK. The application deadline is 8th May 2015.
Willamette MBA Global Diversity Scholarship for Egyptians
Willamette University is offering MBA scholarship for Egyptian students entering in class Fall Semester 2015. The Willamette MBA Global Diversity Scholarship program is for International students who completed their bachelor degree in any of the mentioned countries. Applicants selected for this scholarship will receive a $5,000 Global Diversity scholarship and an Atkinson School Scholarship of at least $16,000. Africa Regional Bursary for Egyptian Students
Cambridge Judge Business School is offering Bursary for Egyptian students to pursue MBA programme. A bursary worth up to £18,000 will be awarded to a successful African candidate. To be eligible for this bursary, applicants meet the usual requirements for the Cambridge MBA. Candidates should apply for admission to the Cambridge MBA in the normal way for applying this bursary. The application deadlines are 9 January 2015, 6 March 2015 and 1 May 2015.
Citadel Capital Scholarship for Egyptian Students
The Citadel Capital Scholarship Foundation is offering scholarship for talented and promising young Egyptian men and women to pursue master degree abroad in all fields of study. The Citadel Scholarship funds under two schemes: the full scholarship covering tuition and living expenses and the partial scholarship covering tuition only. The ceiling for tuition fees is 50,000 USD per annum. Students must be an Egyptian national and residing in Egypt. Applicant must have a minimum of two years of work experience post-graduation. The application deadline is January 15th to April 30th of every year.
Developing Solutions Masters Scholarships
University of Nottingham has invited applications for developing solutions masters scholarships available for the students of Egypt. Applicants must already hold an offer to start a full-time masters degree programme, including MRes at Nottingham for September 2015. Up to 105 scholarships are awarded. Up to 30 scholarships will cover 100% tuition fee and up to 75 scholarships will cover 50% towards tuition fees. The last date to apply is 24 April 2015.
Netherlands Fellowship Programme for Developing Countries’ Students,
Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation is offering Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) for developing country applicants. NFP will be awarded for master degree programmes, PhD and short courses. Students must be a national of one of the countries in the NFP country list valid at the time of application.
High Achiever Foundation Prize
University of Nottingham is inviting applications for high achiever foundation prizes available for African students. Up to three prizes of £2,000 towards tuition fees will be awarded for the first year only. Applicants should already hold an offer to start a full-time foundation programme at Nottingham in September 2015. Mo Ibrahim Foundation MSc Scholarship
Applications are invited for Mo Ibrahim Foundation scholarship to undertake MSc in Governance and State-building, with a one year internship being integral to the programme. The internship will consist of six months with IDD and six months with the Mo Ibrahim Foundation in London. Applicants must have the equivalent of a first class UK bachelors degree and be African nationals domiciled (or permanent residents) in an African country. Preference will be given to scholarship candidates living in Sub-Saharan Africa. The application deadline is 18 May 2015.

AFD PSIA Student Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to study Master program in Development Practice or in International Development at Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA). Scholarship is offered for the entire length of study at PSIA on condition of sufficient academic performance (top 50% of class). Scholarship goes towards covering tuition fees. Application deadline is February 8th, 2015.
IRO Doctoral Scholarship Programme
Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) annually invites applications for IRO doctoral scholarship programme available for students from Developing Countries. The IRO Doctoral Scholarships are only granted for doctoral programmes for a maximum period of 48 months and eventually for one pre-doctoral year as preparation period for the doctoral programme. Applicants may choose a research topic proposed by one of the KU Leuven Doctoral Schools: Humanities and Social Sciences Science, Engineering and Technology Biomedical Sciences or applicants may propose their own research topic. The application deadline is November 10th 2014.
Chevening Scholarships for Postgraduate Students
Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations offer Chevening scholarships for master students. The programme provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree in any subject and at any UK University. Chevening scholarships cover tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual), an economy class return airfare to the UK and additional grants to cover essential expenditure. Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only. The application deadline is 15th November 2014.
