2014 Scholarships for Tanzanian Students
Current collection of scholarships and fellowships is for Tanzanian students who wish to improve and upgrade their education further. Higher education now day has become an essential part for all the students worldwide. This list contains some scholarships for the Tanzanian students. Fulbright Junior Staff Development Program
The Embassy of the United States in Dar es Salaam has announced the 2015-2016 Fulbright Junior Staff Development Program for Tanzanian citizens. Financial assistance will be provided for a maximum of two years of study. Applicants can pursue graduate degree in a U.S. university or take participation in a non-degree research or nonacademic professional program. The JSD program is open to any qualified candidate but strongly encourages the inclusion of female candidates and prefers candidates who have not had extensive recent experience in the United States. The application deadline is May 1, 2014.
PhD Scholarship Programme in Global Change and Climate Economics
Applications are invited for six full PhD scholarships in the field of Global Change and Climate Economics at the University of Gothenburg. Scholarships are only open to applicants from developing countries and in particular Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. The program span is four to five years. Application should be submitted till 1st April, 2014.
BG Tanzania International Postgraduate Scholarship
BG Tanzania is inviting applications for postgraduate scholarship for 2014/15 September intake. Scholarship is available for Tanzanian graduates to complete their postgraduate education with focus on specific geoscience and engineering courses in the UK and access future employment opportunities in the energy and related sectors. Application should be submitted till 30th April 2014.
One Planet MBA Scholarships at University of Exeter in UK, 2014/15
University of Exeter is offering a number of MBA scholarships in 2014/15. Applicants need to have received an offer of a place on the One Planet MBA before apply for a scholarship. All scholarships are awarded on a discretionary basis, with eligibility assessed on the basis of academic qualifications, work experience and personal statement. Application should be submitted till 31st May 2014.
TÜBITAK Graduate Scholarship Programme in Turkey, 2014
Applications are invited for TÜBITAK graduate scholarship available for the citizens of least developed countries. Applicants must be 30 years old or younger for the MSc/MA programs and 35 years old or younger for the PhD programs on the first day of the application period.
Masters Scholarships for Tanzanian Students at University of Manchester in UK, 2014
The University of Manchester is offering four full time masters scholarships to applicants from Tanzania starting in September 2014. Scholarships cover full tuition fees, return international air fares and living expenses. Scholarships are available in the all subjects including Engineering, Environment, Medical and Life Sciences and Textiles. The application deadline is 28 February 2014.
British Council Scotland Commonwealth Scholarships in UK, 2014
Applications are invited for British Council Scotland Commonwealth Scholarships available for students from Commonwealth countries. Scholarships are open for literature and creative writing students to attend the summer school. Two 2-week Literature scholarships and one 4-week Creative Writing scholarship will be awarded. University of Stirling is offering scholarship for students from Sub-Saharan Africa for entry in September 2014. Applicants must hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of a place on any of the full-time Masters programmes offered by Stirling Management School. The application deadline is 10th June 2014.
Steve Huckvale Scholarships for African Students at University of Bath in UK, 2014
University of Bath is offering scholarships for African students. These scholarships are available to taught masters applicants who are intending to study Engineering or Management. Each Scholarship is worth £5,000. Each is awarded as a discount in tuition fees and is for one year only. Scholarships cannot be deferred to a later year. The application deadline is 30th June 2014.
MSFS Scholarship for Sub-Saharan African Students in USA, 2015
Georgetown University is offering master scholarship for Sub-Saharan African students. Students will take courses in international relations, international trade, international finance, statistics and analytical tools and history. In addition, students choose an area of concentration such as Global Politics and Security, International Development or Global Business and Finance. Application should be submitted till January 15, 2015 for fall 2015.
INSEAD Greendale Foundation Scholarship for Southern and East Africans, 2015
The Trustees of the Greendale Foundation offer MBA scholarship for Southern and East Africans (from disadvantaged backgrounds) who have undergone the major part of their education in Southern or East Africa. The amount of scholarship is €35,000.

Africa Biosciences Challenge Fund (ABCF) Research Fellowships in Africa, 2014
The Africa Biosciences Challenge Fund (ABCF) offers research fellowships in the field of biosciences, agriculture or related subject at a national agricultural research organization or university in a BecA-ILRI Hub target country. Fellowships are available for pursuing MSc or PhD program.The application deadline is February 28th 2014.
The East Africa Social Science Translation (EASST) is offering a 4-month visiting scholar fellowship. Fellowship is awarded to equip East African social scientists with the skills needed to carry out rigorous evaluations of economic development programs. The application deadline is March 26, 2014.
INSEAD Deepak and Sunita Gupta Endowed Scholarship for Developing Countries, 2014
INSEAD Business School offers MBA scholarship for students of developing countries. Scholarship up to €25,000 will be awarded to students with limited financial means. To be considered for this MBA scholarship, applicants must demonstrate financial need. The application deadline for Round 1 is 8 January 2014 and Round 2 applications will be open from 14 January 2014 till 31 January 2014.
CAS-TWAS President’s Postgraduate Fellowship Programme in China, 2014
Applications are invited for CAS-TWAS President’s Postgraduate Fellowship Programme from the citizens of developing countries other than China. These postgraduate fellowships are awarded up to 140 students per year for PhD study and research. Applicants must be maximum age of 35 years on 31 December 2014. University of Manchester Equity and Merit Scholarships for Distance Learning in UK, 2014/15
The University of Manchester is invited applications for up to 6 scholarships for postgraduate study of Public Health, through an online distance learning course which starts in September 2014. Citizen of Uganda or Tanzania are eligible for this postgraduate scholarship. Six scholarships are offered which include tuition fees and the cost of required text books, grant to contribute to the costs of internet access. Application deadline is 20 January 2014.
Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders in USA, 2014
U.S. African Development Foundation and the U.S. State Department is funding training fellowship for the citizens of and residents in a sub-Saharan African country. Fellowship is awarded to participate in a 6-week leadership and mentoring program at a US institution. Washington fellows will have valuable access to internships and job opportunities in the private and public sectors.
International Students House Residential Scholarships for Developing Countries in UK, 2014
International Students House is offering a two years residential scholarship program for postgraduate students in London for the January 2014 intake. Scholarship provides free accommodation at ISH for up to a year and in exceptional circumstances up to three years. Other than in exceptional circumstances, the maximum award will be a grant or a loan of up to £1,000. The application deadline is December 31st, 2013.
US/Canada Grants for Students of Developing Countries, 2014/15
Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund is providing award for women applicants of developing countries. The scholarship is for those women who Resides in the U.S. or Canada at the time she submits the application. The applicants should be 25 years old by December 31, 2013. The MMMF awards grants of approximately $12,000 each. Last date of submission is January 15, 2014.
Global Change Leaders Scholarship Program for Women from Developing Countries in Canada, 2014
The Coady International Institute St. Francis Xavier University is inviting global change leaders’ scholarship program for seven weeks in Canada. Women applicants from developing countries are eligible for this scholarship. The Global Change Leaders program provides successful candidates with a full scholarship that includes tuition, travel, accommodations and meals. The online application for the 2014 program is now open and will close on January 17, 2014.
IMTFI’s Call for Research Proposals for Developing Countries in USA, 2014/15
There is a call for researchers of developing countries by Institute for Money, Technology and Financial Inclusion School of Social Sciences, University of California, Irvine. The budget of the institute to be used for direct research expenses is up to US$20,000. Previous recipients are welcome to apply but new applicants will receive priority. Applicants from developing countries are eligible for this research proposal. The deadline for applications is December 16, 2013.
Julius Nyerere Masters Scholarships for Tanzanian Students at University of Edinburgh in UK, 2014
Three master scholarships are offered by the University Of Edinburgh for Tanzanian students in UK. The Scholarships will cover the full overseas tuition fee, living costs of £10,000 and a return flight from Tanzania to the UK. The scholarships will be provided for one academic year and these are for those students who live in Tanzania and who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master’s programme of study at the University of Edinburgh. The Leverhulme Trust is financing research and training award for students of UK, Ghana and Tanzania. Applications are covering the following five identified national research priorities: agriculture (including animal health); water and sanitation; basic human health research (including medicinal chemistry); biodiversity (including medicinal plants and green chemistry) and energy (including renewables). The Humboldt Foundation grants up to 80 Georg Forster Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers. Fellowships are available for periods of 6-24 months.
