University of Westminster is inviting applications for international scholarships for full-time masters degree program. Applicants must be an international student from one of the countries listed and hold an offer for a full-time Masters at the University. Scholarships include half tuition fee. The application deadline is 16 October 2015.
uOttawa-GLUK Postdoctoral Fellowship in Global Health Research
The uOttawa-GLUK-UWISON Postdoctoral Fellowship in Global Health Research is is offering a one-year contract, to be based at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK), Kenya. Citizens of Sub-Saharan Africa can apply for this fellowship. This award will support one postdoctoral fellow for 12 months of full-time mentored training onsite in Kisumu, Kenya at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu, including one-month participation in the GLUK international research internship. The application deadline is October 26th, 2015.
Rotary Yoneyama Scholarships for Tanzanian Students
Applications are invited for Rotary Yoneyama Scholarships available for international students to undertake studies at Japanese university or graduate school in Japan. International applicant must have Japanese language proficiency. Applicants must be up to 39 years of age and have scholastic and health requirements. Scholarships will be awarded for a period of two years. Application deadline is 16th October 2016 for both April and October 2016 enrollments.
Gates Cambridge Scholarship for Tanzanian Students
Each year, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funds bill gates scholarship to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. The deadlines are as follows: Round 1 (US citizens based in the USA) – 14 October 2015 and Round 2 (all other eligible candidates) – 2 December 2015.
Wellcome Trust Training Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine
Wellcome Trust is offering Training Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Research should be aimed at understanding and improving public health and tropical medicine of local, national and global relevance. This fellowship is normally for three years (non-renewable), but may be for up to four years for those who wish to undertake a relevant Master’s training or diploma course. Applications are considered twice a year. Details of the next round:-Preliminary application deadline is 12 November 2015 and full application deadline is 3 February 2016.
Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Tanzanian Scholars and Artists
Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission offers excellence scholarships for foreign scholars and artists in Switzerland. The scholarships are available for pursuing PhD, postdoctoral and research programs at one of the public funded universities or recognized institution. The applicant must not be more than 35 years old at the moment of the application. The Scholarship is only valid for a full time Postdoctoral Research or Research in Switzerland. It is not valid for mixed Postdoctoral Research or mixed Research (part time in Switzerland and part time in a third country).
Honjo International Scholarships for Tanzanian Students
Applications are invited for Honjo international scholarships available for foreign students to attend a graduate school at a Japanese university April 1, 2016. Up to 15 to 20 scholarships will be awarded. The period of the Honjo international scholarship is set in accordance with the shortest period of time required to complete the intended degree. The student, once awarded the scholarship will be able to choose the option as follows: ¥200,000 per month for 1 or 2 years, ¥180,000 per month for 3 years and ¥150,000 per month for 4 or 5 years. Applications should be submitted till October 31, 2015.
Canadian Government Doctoral Research Scholarships for Tanzanian Students
Each year the government of Canada offers doctoral research scholarships in the natural sciences, mathematics and engineering fields for international students. The maximum annual value of the scholarship is $20 000. The scholarship holder may also receive up to nine payments totaling $60 000 during the nine sessions or 36 months. The deadline for submitting complete files directly to the FRQNT is November 1st, 2015.
Czech Republic Government Scholarships for Tanzanians
Czech Government Scholarships for Nigerian students are available to pursue Bachelor/ Master/ Doctoral degree program at public universities in the Czech Republic. These Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study. The application deadline is 30 September.
Sri Lankan Government Presidential Scholarships for Tanzanian Students
Applications are invited for Sri Lankan Government Scholarships available for foreign students to pursue undergraduate degree. Scholarships are open for courses of studies other than Medical & Dental Sciences. Candidates can request for more than one course for securing chances to win a scholarship, identifying their preferences as places are limited in some fields. The application deadline is 30 September 2015.
Chevening Scholarships for Tanzanian Students
Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations offer Chevening scholarships for master students. The programme provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree in any subject and at any UK University. Chevening scholarships cover tuition fees, a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual), an economy class return airfare to the UK and additional grants to cover essential expenditure. Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only. The application deadline is 3 November 2015.
Afya Bora Consortium Fellowships in Global Health Leadership
Applications are invited for Afya Bora Consortium Global Health Fellowships for one-year training program in 8 academic health centers, four in Africa and four in the USA. Fellowship will provide trainees with a set of practical skills that will prepare them for leadership positions in government, non-government, and academic health institutions in developing countries. There are 20 positions available for health professionals interested in a 12-month fellowship (starting July 2016). Applications close on December 1, 2015.
International Master Scholarships and Discounts in Conflictology
United Nations Institute for Training and Reasearch (UNITAR) and the Open University of Catalunia (UOC) are jointly offering master scholarships and Discounts to study Conflictology program. Two types of tuition fees discounts exist: the UN Volunteer discount and the Least Developed Countries discount. There are two outstanding peacekeeper scholarships and two outstanding peace builder scholarships available. Scholarship recipients will benefit from a 50% discount on the full tuition fees, the equivalent of USD 5,700. The application deadline for Spring Intake is 1st December.
VLIR-UOS Scholarships for International Master Programmes (ICP)
Applications are invited for VLIR-UOS scholarships to pursue accredited English master programmes of 60, 90 or 120 credits, organised at a Flemish university. Selection of a Master as ICP implies the acquirement of and obligation to attribute 12 fully fledged scholarships per intake year, entirely funded through VLIR-UOS, during the five year cycle 2017-2021. All students applying for the ICP need to comply with the academic criteria as set by the programme. These requirements relate to the academic level and content, and are therefore not defined by VLIRUOS.
Africa’s Land and Food Masters Fellowship
The Royal Agricultural University invites applications for masters fellowship programme. Fellowships are open to Africans from Sub-Saharan Africa who have experience in agriculture, agri-business, food or natural resource management. Fellowships cover tuition fees, board and accommodation, airfare, incidental costs. The deadline for completing an expression of interest is 31st August 2015 and for full application is 31st October 2015.
Foundation Edu Scholarship for Tanzanian Students
University of Ghana invites applications for Africa scholarship to 100 Level students from areas of need. The Scholarship covers tuition, books, as well as room and board and will be awarded for four years as long as excellent academic standards of at least a B average of 3.00 CGPA continue to be met and need is demonstrated. The application deadline is October 22, 2015.
Eisenhower Fellowships for African Applicants
Applications are invited for Eisenhower Fellowships available for individuals who have a demonstrated track record of significant professional and community achievements and who seek to tackle big challenges in the future. Eisenhower Fellowships seeks a diverse mix of applicants, ages 32-45, from a wide range of professional sectors. This is a seven week fellowship program will take place from October 2-November 18, 2016 in USA. The application deadline is October 15, 2015
WAAW Foundation Scholarship for Undergraduate African Women
Applications are invited for WAAW Foundation 2016 scholarship. Scholarships are available for African women to study as full time students in a STEM related course at a University, College or institute of higher learning in Africa. Scholarship recipients receive an award of $500 for the 2016 academic year, or the equivalent in their country’s local currency. Prior scholarship recipient may reapply for renewal the following year, with proof of continued excellent academic performance. The application deadline is 30 September, 2015.
Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship for International Journalists
Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship is available for senior and mid-career journalists (with at least five years experience) from North America, Central and South America, Europe, the Asia Pacific region, Africa and the Mideast. Fellows attend an intensive weeklong program of seminars and discussions held at Columbia University in New York City. The Ochberg Fellowship covers round-trip travel and accommodations in New York City, meals and other expenses directly related to participation. This 2015 online application deadline is September 28, 2015.
British Ecological Society Grants
Applications are invited for British Ecological Society grants from ecologists in Africa to carry out innovative ecological research. The maximum value of a grant is £8,000 for research. An additional sum up to £2,000 may be requested to fund travel to help grantees develop connections with other ecologists outside their usual peer group. Travel funds are available for the applicant to spend time working with ecologists in developed countries where facilities and experience will help the grantee on return to their own institution. The application deadline is 11 September, 2015.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Danida Fellowship Programme
Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites Phase 1 applications for research grants related to development research. Applicants from North-driven (Denmark) and South-driven (Ghana, Nepal, and Tanzania) development research grant applicants are eligible to apply for this programme. The total budget available for this Call is DKK 135 million (approximately USD 22,6 million). The application deadline is September 4, 2015.
Call for Applications: CARTA PhD Fellowships
The Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) is offering 25 PhD fellowships for 2015-2016 academic year. Applicants for this program must be teaching or research staff at one of the participating African institutions and should be committed to contributing towards building capacity at their institutions. The fellowship runs for a maximum of four years. The fellowship will cover tuition fees and medical insurance. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2015.
ISN Fellowship Program for Tanzania
Applications are invited for fellowship program available for physicians from Tanzania with the ultimate goal of improving the standards in the fellows’ home countries upon their return and becoming leaders in their fields. Fellowship program provides relevant and contemporary nephrology training to physicians. The program offers two types of Fellowships: Long term awards (7–12 months) and Short term awards (2–6 months). Applicants must have been nominated by a Home Mentor and their Home Institution must guarantee their re-employment once training has been completed. ISN Fellowship grants are awarded on the condition that Fellows return to their respective home countries within three months after completion of the training.
Developing Solutions Masters Scholarships at University of Nottingham in UK, 2015
University of Nottingham is offering developing solutions masters scholarships for Tanzanian students. Applicants must already hold an offer to start a full-time masters degree programme, including MRes at Nottingham for September 2015. Up to 105 scholarships are awarded. Up to 30 scholarships will cover 100% tuition fee and up to 75 scholarships will cover 50% towards tuition fees. The deadline for application is 24 April 2015.
Edinburgh Global Development Academy Masters Scholarships in UK, 2015
Applications are invited by University of Edinburgh for Edinburgh global development Academy masters scholarships. Scholarships are open for students from Tanzania. One master scholarship will cover the overseas rate of tuition fee, while a further two scholarships will cover the UK/EU rate of tuition fee only. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. The closing date for application is 10 April 2015.
High Achiever Foundation Prize for African Students at University of Nottingham in UK, 2015
University of Nottingham is inviting applications for high achiever foundation prizes available for Tanzanian students. Up to three prizes of £2,000 towards tuition fees will be awarded for the first year only. Applicants should already hold an offer to start a full-time foundation programme at Nottingham in September 2015. Students will only be eligible to receive this high achiever prize if they meet the conditions of their academic offer. The application deadline is 27 March 2015.
TGCL Scholarship for Postgraduate Study Programme in Law, 2015
TGCL scholarship for Tanzanian students are available for entry into a postgraduate study programme in law (LLM or PhD) offered by TGCL starting on 1 August, 2015. A limited number of scholarships are awarded to students. The LLM scholarship covers a period of one year, and the PhD scholarship covers a period of three years. The scholarships cover university fees, health insurance, the cost of living (including miscellaneous charges) of 2,400/3,000 EUR per annum for Tanzanians/Non-Tanzanians. Furthermore, a lump sum of 460 EUR for LLM and 920 EUR for PhD will be paid for the cost of research. The application deadline is 15 January, 2015.
Eldred-Waverley Scholarship for MSc African Studies at Linacre College in UK 2015
University of Oxford offers MSc scholarship in African Studies for the students of Tanzania. This scholarship is only tenable at Linacre College. All eligible applicants will be considered for this scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) they state as their preference on the graduate application form. However, successful applicants will be transferred to Linacre College in order to take up the scholarship. The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees, a grant for living costs (of at least £10,397) and a return flight from your home country to UK. The last date to apply is 23 January 2015.
Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld Scholarship and Leadership Programme in UK, 2015
University of Oxford is inviting applications for Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld Scholarship and Leadership Programme. Scholarships are open for outstanding postgraduate students from transition and emerging economies throughout Africa, Asia and South America. Scholarship covers 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course. MSFS Scholarship for Sub-Saharan African Students in USA, 2015
Georgetown University is offering master scholarship for Sub-Saharan African students. Students will take courses in international relations, international trade, international finance, statistics and analytical tools and history. In addition, students choose an area of concentration such as Global Politics and Security, International Development or Global Business and Finance. The scholarship will cover full-tuition for two years. Application should be submitted till January 15, 2015 for fall 2015.
African Peacebuilding Network (APN) Residential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program,
The African Peace building Network of the Social Science Research Council is offering residential postdoctoral fellowships for African academics and researchers who work on conflict and peacebuilding and are based in universities in Africa. Fellows are expected to spend two months at a university or research center in Africa located outside the fellow’s home country and a third month at either a university or a policy or practitioner institution in the United States. Selected fellows will produce research-based knowledge that is relevant to and has a significant impact on, peacebuilding policy and practice on the continent. The application deadline is December 14th 2014.
Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa Fellowship Program
Carnegie Corporation of New York is funding three distinct competitive fellowship opportunities for early-career social science faculty of African academics working on peace, security and development issues. The three fellowships are: the doctoral dissertation research fellowship, doctoral dissertation completion fellowship and doctoral dissertation proposal fellowship. Fellowship program also offers two workshops each year for fellow’s Masters research in their research publications. Up to 45 fellowships are awarded each year. AIMS Postdoctoral Fellowships for Tanzanian Applicants
The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is offering postdoctoral fellowships in the area of mathematical finance and computational algebra. Fellowships are tenable for two years contingent on satisfactory progress, and could be extended for a third year. Fellowships are immediately available and the value of the award ranges between R200 – R240k per annum, taxfree, subject to qualification and experience. TWAS-IACS Fellowship Program for Tanzania Scholars in India
Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science and TWAS are offering research fellowships for citizens of developing countries (other than India) at IACS. IACS will provide a monthly stipend to cover living costs, food and health insurance. The monthly stipend will not be convertible into foreign currency. The postgraduate fellowships for a period of up to four years for studies leading to a PhD degree and postdoctoral fellowships for a minimum period of six months to a maximum period of twelve months are awarded. Jean Monnet Postdoctoral Fellowships for Tanzanian Applicants
Tanzania fellowships are offered to post-docs in an early stage of their academic career at RSCAS. Up to 25 Jean Monnet fellowships will be awarded annually. The maximum amount for travel reimbursement is €1,200 for return travel. The fellowships are for the duration of one or two years. Online application deadline is 25th October 2014.
VLIR-UOS Call Short Training Initiatives for Tanzanian Students
VLIR-UOS short training scholarships for Tanzanian students are available for practical training of 1 to 2 weeks at a Flemish university or university college in Flanders or in a VLIR-UOS partner country for which VLIR-UOS elaborated a country strategy. This fee consists of bench fees per VLIR-UOS sponsored participant (€ 66 per participant per day). The application deadline is 20th October 2014.
TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowship for Tanzanian Students
TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is open for young scientists from Tanzania. Fellowship is providing a standard monthly allowance which covers living costs, such as accommodation and food. TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowships are tenable in BIOTEC and its affiliated research units for a period of twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) months. The application deadline is 15th September 2014.
Korean Government Scholarship for Tanzanian Students in Korea
Applications are now open for Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) available for Tanzanian students. Scholarships are awarded for 5 years from March 1, 2014-February 28, 2019. Grantees should take a one year preliminary Korean language course before pursuing an undergraduate degree course (4 years). To be selected as a KGSP grantee, any applicant should successfully pass through the 1st selection process set by the Korean embassies of students’ origin. Application deadlines may differ from one country to another but it will be expected to fall in September or early October.
DAAD Scholarships for Tanzanian Students
DAAD German Academic Exchange Service offers scholarships for Tanzanian students. The scholarships are available for pursuing a postgraduate degree at German institutions of Higher education. These scholarships provide monthly installment of EUR 750.00. and also include the costs for health, accident and liability insurance in Germany and an adequate travelling allowance. The general closing dates for applications are 31st August 2014 (annually) DAAD Bonn or 15st October 2014 (annually). Deadlines differ from university to university.
ICTP Master Scholarships for Tanzanian Students in Medical Physics in Italy
Applications are invited for master scholarships for Tanzanian students in Medical Physics. A limited number of partial or full scholarships will be awarded to successful candidates from developing countries. ICTP will also cover, on the basis of a detailed request, travel costs and course fees for a limited number of successful candidates from developing countries who are not awarded the full scholarship. These masters’ scholarships are offered for two years master program starting from 1 January 2015 until 31 December 2016. The application deadline is August 31, 2014.
TWAS-ICCBS Fellowship Program for Tanzania Scholars in Pakistan
TWAS and International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences are inviting applications for fellowship program to pursue research at postgraduate and postdoctoral level. ICCBS will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs, such as food, accommodation, local transportation and incidental illness. The monthly stipend will not be convertible into foreign currency. The fellowships are tenable at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS). Fellowships are awarded for maximum 4 years (full-time) and a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period (Sandwich) for PhD program and for a minimum period of six months to a maximum period of twelve months for postdoctoral program. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
The Government of Canada offers Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships for Canadian and international students studying at Canadian universities. Up to 167 scholarships are awarded annually for a period of three years. Students must be nominated by only one Canadian university, which must have received a Vanier CGS allocation. Candidates cannot apply directly to the Vanier CGS program. Each Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year. Application deadline for the 2014-2015 competition is November 5, 2014.
Sri Lankan Government Presidential Scholarships
Applications are invited for up to 100 Sri Lankan Government Scholarships available for foreign students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degree commencing in December 2014 in Sri Lanka. Scholarships are open for courses of studies other than Medical & Dental Sciences. Every student is required to undergo an HIV/AIDS test within a month after arrival. Candidates should apply for this scholarship with the recommendation of the government scholarship nominating agency (Ministry/Institution) of the respective country till 15th October, 2014.
African Graduate Fellowship at American University in Cairo, Egypt 2014-2015
American University in Cairo is offering graduate fellowship for Non-Egyptian African nationals. Applicants must have bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum overall rating of very good, an overall grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. Fellowships are awarded for two academic years and the intervening summer session. Application should be submitted till December 15.
KJ Bathe SEMC Doctoral Scholarships in South Africa, 2015
Applications are invited for the KJ Bathe SEMC doctoral scholarships available for South African and scholars from other African countries to study at University of Cape Town. Candidates who in 2015 will be registering for the first or second year of a PhD degree at the University of Cape Town are eligible to apply for these awards. Masters Fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine
Wellcome Trust is offering masters fellowships for junior researchers to gain research experience and high-quality research training at Master’s degree level. A Fellowship normally provides up to 30 months’ support. Fellows must be based in a low- or middle-income country for their research project. The Trust does not provide Master’s schemes for UK/RoI-based researchers. The application deadline is 15 August 2014.
Call for Applications: AWARD Fellowships for Women in Africa, 2015
Applications are invited for AWARD Fellowships available for women agricultural scientists who have a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. Unlike any other fellowship, AWARD delivers a well-tested, a career – development program that includes: Fostering Mentoring Partnerships, Building Science Skills, Developing Leadership Capacity and Tracking Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation. Up to 70 women will be chosen to receive a two year AWARD fellowship in 2015. Mexican Government Scholarship Program
Applications are invited for Mexican Government scholarship program available for foreign students. Scholarships for academic studies are offered for those who preferred to take complete programs for Specialization, Master’s or PhD Degrees and Postgraduate Researches. Likewise, the offer includes academic mobility for Bachelor’s and Postgraduate Degree. On the other hand, the scholarships for special programs are offered to take short-term fellowships addressed to Visiting Professors, Researchers in Mexico’s issues, Media Contributors, Art Production Fellowships, etc. The application deadline is July 31st, 2014.
DAAD Master Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance
DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is funding master scholarships in Public Policy and Good Governance at German institution in Germany. A monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 € will be awarded. Scholarships also provide health insurance, travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy and in applicable cases accommodation subsidies and/or family allowances. The next application deadline is 31st July 2015.
Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) invites applications for college scholarships available for international students to study at a Japanese college of technology. A graduated grantee will be awarded a diploma and an associate degree. Scholarship awards will be tenable for four years from April, 2015 to March, 2019 including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects due to be provided upon arrival in Japan.
Westminster International Scholarships
University of Westminster offers international scholarships for students from developing countries to pursue master program. These fully funded scholarships will include full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses and flights to and from London. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence, financial need and development potential. Preference will be given to junior faculty members of partner Universities in Vietnam. Application should be submitted till 17th October 2014.
MMMF Grant for Women of Developing Countries
Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund is offering grant for women of developing countries in South Africa. Applicant must be women and enrolled at the University of Pretoria, the University of Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch or the University of Witwatersrand. The deadline for applications is August 31, 2014.
UNU-INRA Visiting Scholars Programme for African Researchers, 2014-2015
Applications are invited for UNU-INRA Visiting Scholarships to undertake a three-year project entitled “Unleashing the Potential of African Rural Economies through Green Growth”. Under the project, up to ten visiting scholars will be selected each year to spend 3-4 months carrying out research at UNU-INRA headquarters in Accra, Ghana, or at one of its operating units based in Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Namibia, Senegal and Zambia. The application deadline is 31 August 2014.
Newcastle University Tanzania Scholarship
Applications are invited for Tanzania Scholarship available for entry onto postgraduate taught degree or research programmes in September 2014 at Newcastle University. The scholarship will have a value of £3,500, payable towards the first year of tuition fees.
