Emerald MSc Studentship at King’s College London in UK, 2014
King’s College London is offering Emerald MSc studentship for students of Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Nepal, India and Ethiopia. This MSc studentship is being awarded by the EMERALD project in order to build capacity in mental health system delivery and performance in EMERALD countries. Applicants must have relevant professional experience in the field of public health. The overall value of MSc Studentship is £35860 (£22660 for fees + £13200 for living costs). The application deadline is 30 April 2014.

MRC TEG Training Fellowship Scheme in Medical Statistics, 2014
UK Medical Research Council (MRC) is offering training fellowship to undertake two years MSc training in Medical Statistics. For the first year the successful applicant will study for the MSc degree in Medical Statistics at the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (LSHTM). This will be followed by a one-year professional attachment at one of the African centres associated with the research programme of the Tropical Epidemiology Group (TEG) at LSHTM. Applicants must be resident in and a national of a country in sub-Saharan Africa. Application should be submitted till 30th April 2014.

China-South Africa Joint Research Program
The Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of South Africa are announcing China-South Africa Joint Research Program (JRP). This is a 2-year collaborative research projects jointly developed and completed by researchers on both sides. Applications will close on 30th April 2014.

Bunting Scholarship for South African Students
University of Sussex is offering master scholarship for South African students within the Department of Business and Management. Students awarded this scholarship may also hold a University of Sussex Chancellor’s International Scholarship, Business, Management and Economics Scholarship or Shawcross Scholarship. The value of the scholarship is £10,000 which can be used towards living costs or fees. The application deadline is 1 June 2014.

SAMRO Overseas Scholarships for Composers, 2014
The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) is offering overseas scholarships for South African, Botswana, Lesotho or Swaziland applicants. The main award-winners’ scholarships may be used only for postgraduate study or approved master classes abroad, focusing on the music discipline for which they were awarded, namely Composition. The application deadline is 30th May 2014.

Canon Collins Scholarship for Distance Learning Master of Laws (LLM) Program
Canon Collins Trust invites applications for scholarships for the distance learning Master of Laws (LLM) program at the University of London. Scholarships are open for the students of South Africa. There are two scholarships available in 2014. Scholarship recipients have between 1 to 5 years to complete the LLM and continued registration on the course is dependent upon satisfactory progress and academic reports. Application should be submitted till 6th April 2014.

Graduate Scholarship in Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development
Brandeis University is offering graduate scholarship for the Master of Arts in Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development (P&D) program. Scholarship will be awarded to an early- to mid-career development planner committed to poverty alleviation and community development within the region of Southern Africa. Scholarship includes full tuition and fees for the year-in-residence at Brandeis and all university fees for the second year field project. The application deadline is March 31, 2014.

Ferguson Foundation MSc Scholarships at Aston University in UK, 2014
The Aston School of Life & Health Sciences is offering MSc scholarships for the students of Africa and South America. The scholarships are available to students applying to on campus programmes offered in the School of Life & Health Sciences. 10 scholarships will be awarded. The application deadline is 31st March 2014.

SAFe Think Bursary Programme for South African/Lesotho Students, 2014/15
French government in partnership with South African think tanks is offering full bursaries for South African or Lesotho students. These SAFe Think Bursaries are allocated for the duration of a French academic year, i.e. from September 2014 to June 2015, either for the first (M1) or for the second (M2) year of a Master programme. The application deadline is 24th March 2014.

African Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowships (ADDRF), 2014
The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), in partnership with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is offering about 20 doctoral dissertation research fellowships. Each award will be up to a maximum of US$10,000. Application should be submitted till March 20, 2014.

UCL IGH African Graduate Scholarships in UK, 2014
UCL Institute for Global Health is offering a small number of graduate scholarships for African students. Scholarships are awarded for studying MSc in Global Health and Development. Scholarships will be awarded towards tuition fees and living costs while studying at IGH. Applications should be submitted till May 9, 2014.

MSFS Scholarship for Sub-Saharan African Students
Georgetown University is offering master scholarship for Sub-Saharan African students. Students will take courses in international relations, international trade, international finance, statistics and analytical tools and history. In addition, students choose an area of concentration such as Global Politics and Security, International Development or Global Business and Finance. The scholarship will cover full-tuition for two years. Application should be submitted till January 15, 2015 for fall 2015.

UCT Knowledge Co-op Bursaries in South Africa, 2014
University of Cape Town is offering master bursaries for South African students who intend to commence with their Master’s dissertation at the University of Cape Town in 2014. The bursary will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Only candidates with a final BSc(Eng) or Honours degree mark of 60% and above are eligible to apply. The value of the bursary is R20, 000 for one year. Applications should be submitted till 28th February 2014.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Innovation
The Division of Biomedical Engineering invites applications from suitably qualified doctoral graduates for a postdoctoral research fellowship in the area of health innovation. To be eligible, candidates must have possessed a doctoral degree in the area of health / engineering /management/ natural/social sciences. The tenure of this fellowship is one year.

Shawcross Scholarship for South African Students
University of Sussex is offering master scholarship for South African students. Applicants must have applied for and been offered a place on a one-year masters degree in one of the following Schools: School of English, School of Law, Politics and Sociology, School of History, Art History and Philosophy, School of Education and Social Work, School of Media, Film and Music and School of Global Studies. The application deadline is 1st May 2014.

Canada-Africa Research Exchange Grants (CAREG)
International Development Research Center is funding exchange grants to support research between Canadian and African universities and research institutes that address IDRC research themes. 10-11 grants will be awarded for approximately 20 months to carry out research. Application deadline is February 18, 2014.

Kevin Rochford Memorial Scholarship for South African Students
University of Cape Town offers Memorial scholarship for South African students. Scholarship is awarded for the 1st year of the B.Ed (Honours) degree, the 1st or 2nd year of the Master’s degree or the 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of the PhD degree in Science Education (or Mathematics). There is no restriction on race or gender. The value of this Memorial scholarship is R 25,000. The application deadline is 15 February 2014.

John Allwright Fellowships in Agriculture
ACIAR and AusAID are funding fellowships in agriculture for applicants from developing countries to study at Institutes in Australia. Candidates must be jointly supported in the application by the Australian and partner country Project Leaders. 27 fellowships will be offered. There is one call for nominations per year. Candidates must submit their applications by 31 July of the year prior to the study taking place.

Intermediate Fellowships for South Africans
The fellowships for South Africans are available for pursuing research programme. The fellowships are awarded for up to five years. It provides a basic salary which will be based on the pay scales of the employing institution or allowances and cover research expenses, training costs. Preliminary application deadline is 25th April 2014 and full application deadline is 4th July 2014.

College of Science Scholarships for South Africans
The scholarships for South Africans are available for pursuing postgraduate degree level at Swansea University in UK. Applicants should have already applied formally to the University for a place on one of College’s postgraduate programmes. Each scholarship is to be offset against international tuition fees. Application deadline is 1st July 2014.

High Achiever Foundation Prize for South Africans
Prizes are available for pursuing foundation courses at University of Nottingham. 2 high achiever prizes of £2,000 towards tuition fees will be awarded. Applicants should already hold an offer to start a full-time foundation program at Nottingham in September 2014. Online application deadline is 27 June 2014.

Mo Ibrahim Foundation MSc Scholarship for South Africans
This scholarship for South Africans is available for pursuing master’s degree level at University of Birmingham in UK. Applicants must have experience in economics and statistics, demonstrated through a good mark received for at least one course at undergraduate level. Scholarship is offered for 18 months. Applications will close on 19th May 2014.

Professor Arthur Li Development Scholarship for South Africans
University of the West of England offers master scholarship for South Africans. One full tuition fee scholarship will be available for an outstanding student to study a one year master’s programme at University of the West of England. Applicants must be a new student and be classed as overseas for fees purposes. The deadline for application is 31st May 2014.

Desmond Tutu Masters Scholarship for South Africans
Scholarship for South Africans are available for pursuing master’s degree level at University of Edinburgh. The scholarship will cover the full overseas tuition fee and a maintenance allowance of £5,000. The award will be tenable for one academic year. The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit. Online application deadline is 1 April 2014.

Wellcome Trust International Engagement Awards for South Africans
Wellcome Trust is offering awards for research applicants for 2014 intake. The scholarships will provide up to £30,000 for three years. Applicants must be or collaborating with a researcher, research group or institution to provide expertise in the area of biomedical science  are exploring. Applications should be submitted till 18th April 2014.

GDAI – MA Scholarships for South Africans
This scholarship for South Africans is to pursue MA degree level at SOAS, University of London in UK. One year funding covers fees, accommodation and living cost for the year. Selection criteria for scholarships are academic merit and references. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2014.

IDRC Doctoral Research Awards for South Africans
Awards are available for pursuing doctoral studies at a Canadian university. Students must have completed coursework and passed comprehensive exams before taking up the award. Approximately 20 to 25 awards are offered per competition and will cover justifiable field research expenses up to CA$20,000 a year. Applications will close on April 2, 2014.

Marshal Papworth Scholarships for South Africans
Marshal Papworth Trust is offering scholarships for South Africans. The scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate and a short course programmes. These scholarships are designed to fund the majority of tuition fees, living expenses and travel costs. Scholarships for South Africans will be offered for one year. The application deadline is 24th March 2014.

Lord Walston Scholarship for South Africans
This scholarship for South Africans is available for pursuing master degree level at University of East Anglia in UK. The scholarship covers full fees and maintenance (living expenses). One scholarship will be offered and awarded on the basis of academic excellence. Last date of submitting applications is 16th March 2014.

RNTC Fellowships for South Africans
RNTC’s Fellowships are available for professional journalists, programme-makers, broadcast trainers and managers. The fellowships will be awarded on academic and professional merit. These fellowships cover the course fee (up to 50%), not the costs for travel and accommodation. The application deadlines vary from subject to subject.

International Climate Protection Fellowships for South Africans
The fellowship for South Africans is awarded in climate protection and climate-related resource conservation. Up to 20 International Climate Protection Fellowships are granted annually for a period of one year in Germany. Funding covers a mobility lump sum and a contribution towards health and liability insurance. Online application will be submitted by 15 March 2014.

International Space University MSc Scholarship for South Africans
Scholarship for South Africans is offered for pursuing master’s degree at International Space University. This aid is available to selected applicants and covers a portion of their fees.
