EDCTP-TDR Clinical Research and Development Fellowships for South Africans

Eligible Students: The fellow must be a post-graduate (MSc or PhD) or medical graduate with clinical and/or research experience in infectious diseases
Course: Fellowships are available to early to mid-career clinical researchers and key members of clinical trial research teams to acquire experience and develop skills for conducting and implementing clinical trials outside an academic or public sector setting.
Award Details: The grant covers one economy class return ticket (home – host organisation – home); a monthly stipend; health insurance; an allowance to cover essential educational support materials; support to attend relevant meetings during the course of the fellowship; and funds to support the six month reintegration period.

Mandela Magdalene College Scholarship for South African Students

Arturo Falaschi ICGEB Postdoctoral Fellowships for South Africans

Eligible Students: The NFP is meant for professionals who are nationals of and work and live in one of the 51 NFP countries.
Course: Fellowships are available for masters degree programmes, short courses and PhD Studies at a Dutch higher education institution which offers the NFP-qualified course.
Award Details: An NFP fellowship is intended to supplement the salary that the fellow should continue to receive during the study period.

Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for South Africans

 The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)
Eligible Students: Applicants must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan. Applicants with no official nationality are also eligible to apply.
Course: Scholarships are available to study at a Japanese college of technology. A graduated grantee will be awarded a diploma and an associate degree.
Award Details: Allowance of 117,000 yen per month will be paid. (In case that the recipient research in a designated region, 2,000 or 3,000 yen per month will be added.
